12635757, No but I've seen some I would wear if they weren't so expensive.
Posted by Binladen, Fri Oct-31-14 10:19 AM
I've tried them on and they're comfortable though.
12635765, they do look mad comfy.
Posted by tariqhu, Fri Oct-31-14 10:23 AM
6pm.com has decent prices on lots of stuff. I need to find a local store that has these 2 pair so I can try them on.
12635785, 6pm is the shit. their prices change almost daily, too
Posted by veritas, Fri Oct-31-14 10:32 AM
so if you see something you like on there, but don't want to pay for, toss it in your cart and wait.

they might end up cutting the price on it hard.

it's also convenient that you can organize by % off MSRP.

i've bought stuff off of 6pm that i could turn around for double immediately on eBay.
12635758, I've got a pair of Hannens. They're great.
Posted by veritas, Fri Oct-31-14 10:20 AM
Warm, comfortable, and good looking.
12635825, I started foaming at the mouth with snark until I clicked the link, lol
Posted by 8-bit, Fri Oct-31-14 10:48 AM
Those jawns don't look bad.

Edit:

Just peeped the prices. Snark levels rising again.
12635838, yeah the shoes were cool, especially the chukkas, but the prices.
Posted by KiloMcG, Fri Oct-31-14 10:56 AM
nah.
12635845, hold up, what SHOULD a leather shoe cost? thats super reasonable.
Posted by double negative, Fri Oct-31-14 10:57 AM
12635858, yea you're talking about quality leather with shearling lining
Posted by veritas, Fri Oct-31-14 11:01 AM
they really aren't too expensive for what they are.

especially if you can catch em at a discount on 6pm.
12635873, I knew folks would think I was talking
Posted by tariqhu, Fri Oct-31-14 11:06 AM

I know these are ugly, but they're functional as all hell.
12635839, bought? no. they were a gift.
Posted by HotThyng76, Fri Oct-31-14 10:56 AM
they sucked. i didn't wear them for yrs b/c i didn't think they could survive outdoors - they felt like houseboots.

they weren't made for real cold. they couldn't take a Chicago winter. they lasted about 2 or 3 months. they ripped and i had them repaired and then one ripped again and i threw them away.

but this was yrs ago. the quality could've improved.

i'm talking about these: http://www.uggaustralia.com/men-boots/classic-mini/1002072.html?dwvar_1002072_color=CHE#start=1&cgid=men-boots

^ those are not real boots.

the shoes in the link look a'ight.

rockin' those. not to his face, of course because i'm not that gully, but if it was one of my boys i would.
12635867, right. a woman gave them to me.
Posted by HotThyng76, Fri Oct-31-14 11:05 AM
an insanely wealthy woman.

i had never heard of the boots at the time - they hadn't gone mass market yet. they were still a boutique item.
12635877, were those at all nice for around the house?
Posted by veritas, Fri Oct-31-14 11:07 AM
they seem like they'd be good for christmas morning and going out to smoke a cigarette when you're bumming around the house.

they don't seem well suited for regular outdoor wear at all.
12635882, they were too much for wearing around the house.
Posted by HotThyng76, Fri Oct-31-14 11:08 AM
good for going out to get the mail, i bet. but not in the rain or snow.

they really served no useful purpose. which is why they sat in my closet for 5 yrs before i tried wearing them.

Posted by gumz, Fri Oct-31-14 11:14 AM

12635884, yeah, those don't seem like
Posted by tariqhu, Fri Oct-31-14 11:09 AM
good winter joints at all. especially since they're not leather. I'm sure that folks thought I was referring those, but nah.
12635848, I tried some on.... most comfortable boot I've ever felt
Posted by ambient1, Fri Oct-31-14 10:58 AM
12635888, you might've just sold me.

.
12635904, the clarks?
Posted by tariqhu, Fri Oct-31-14 11:14 AM
I never had a pair of those, but the clarks I've had seemd to get really lose over time. still comfy, but strings wouldn't stay tied and my feet felt like they were floating in the shoe.
12635928, nah, the 2nd uggs link you gave
Posted by FLUIDJ, Fri Oct-31-14 11:23 AM
look like some snug wallys
12635972, oh word, they do.
Posted by tariqhu, Fri Oct-31-14 11:35 AM

I've seen em at 6pm for as low as $88. I was close to pulling the trigger earlier this week, till I saw some Polo boots at Marshall's that were more versatile for work/play. I can't speak on the quality, but great buy IMO.
12636185, I'm want to get them
Posted by tariqhu, Fri Oct-31-14 01:15 PM
but I'm gonna see if I can find the locally for sizing. I don't want to worry about the fits once I order them.

plus the holidays are coming. they might get cheaper lol.
