Economic anxiety is necessary for change. That's how boycotts work. Trying to smooth this over with retailers will allow them to co-opt the movement. When CNBC talks to the walmart rep about the boycott and the rep says "oh nah, they just gonna come a week earlier" it ceases to be a story, it makes it even better for retailers and everyone is let off the hook.
