If yall are dismissive of his point, you will have a hard time selling this movement in because I assure you that many a regular-Joe non-okper will have the same question.

And many kids grow up having to learn hard life lessons, but it doesn't mean they don't still look forward to Christmas. Especially if that time of year has always been an integral part of their family tradition.

I think many are also forgetting how much Christmas is a significant part of Christian tradition. And a lot of black folx are Christian. Christmas isn't just about giving kids gifts, but consumerism around air travel, church, events, food, lodging, gas, etc. and for most, they are all intertwined.

So, This question will come up a lot and it would be beneficial to have a practical response.
