Kids have to participate in activities in the run up to christmas along with adults. Some might be fun, others might be serious.
If people rush out to buy right after Christmas it just shows that we have no real self control or longevity. It also shows that consumerism is so important to us that even when we do boycott we'll it as soon as it's over, even if there is no change, will rush to give businesses our money. It may defeat the point if we can't even organize to give up discretionary consumer goods.

People have to be willing to do this more than one holiday if no legislation is proposed to address police brutality after the first Christmas.
