Many of the civil rights trumpeters got old and ran young people off by telling them, "you don't know enough to have your voice heard here." Then we wonder why people don' t want to engage.
There are some effective grassroots organization working on campaigns on problems like police brutality and gun violence. Some of them are great and others are not. But it doesn't mean there can't be new blood, new ideas and method built. I've walked away from grassroots organizations that were built more on ego than effectiveness. I've also watch them run of vibrant, thoughtful committed people run off because of a "who do they think they are, we BEEN doing this" mentality. It's not helpful. Suggest a book. Suggest a organization to look into. Also don't assume people aren't connected.

Tell us about some of the organization you think are doing good around police brutality and what parts of what they're doing you think are effective.
