What is the purpose of cancelling Christmas? For Michael Brown? For police brutality?
How do any of those events relate to kids getting an action figure in December?

Protests need to be specific. They need to target something specific. Look at some successful boycotts in history. Remember the bus boycotts? Very specific reason for the protest, a solid goal and good implementation.

Divestment in South Africa? A very targeted protest. Boycott and punish corporations who do business in South Africa.

Just telling people out and out to not spend money is dumb as hell.
