is because it lacks strategy and messaging which actually touches the people, but instead tries to guilt them into something which they don't even understand the purpose of.

but the real problem is the lack of accountability. is everyone going to videotape themselves not buying shit. that aspect is how folk will rationalize not participating because there are no checks and balances.

but on the flip side there's no goal, nothing accomplished at the end of the day. one day without black folk buying does not affect the monthly returns as much as you think, and you're not going to actually see those numbers anyway so you can't even champion its effectiveness.

you cancel christmas and those numbers will not lie. and it could happen, beginning with every pastor in every black church around this nation saying there will be no gift giving, just praising in the name of jesus. you ramp it up all the way to november and through the whole season. people have months to talk about it. and the opportunity to build solidarity around it.

it sends a message not just on the economic power, but also allows for the community to actually come together.
