12515352, Florida does something right for once! Father beats his kids molester Posted by Cold Truth, Fri Jul-18-14 05:28 PM
...and doesn't get charged for it. The pic of the beaten perp is a nice one and worthy of applause if you ask me. Obviously, I'd rather not read a story where a child is once again victimized, but it's still nice to know a dad can still be a dad and not get thrown in jail for beating someone to a pulp for abusing his kids.

TONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Daytona Beach father beat an 18-year-old man unconscious after finding him sexually abusing his 11-year-old son early Friday morning, police said.
The father called 911 around 1 a.m. after he walked in on the alleged abuse, police said. When officers arrived, they found Raymond Frolander motionless on the living room floor. He had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth.
"He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you," the father told the 911 dispatcher. "I drug him out to the living room."
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1tZV6o9 ) reports that the father — who was not identified by police — told investigators he walked in as Frolander was abusing the boy.
When asked by the 911 dispatcher if any weapons were involved, the father said "my foot and my fist."
The father has not been charged with any crime.
"Dad was acting like a dad. I don't see anything we should charge the dad with," Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said. "You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times."
Frolander is charged with sexual battery on a child under 12. He is being held without bail. It was not immediately known whether he'd hired a lawyer.
According to the arrest affidavit, Frolander admitted the abuse.

had his son abducted by his karate instructor, so waited for him at the airport after his capture and blasted his cranium into scrap meat while he was being escorted through the terminal.

12515388, Well this guy caught him in the act,at the time Posted by Cold Truth, Fri Jul-18-14 05:40 PM
I'd imagine they'll look at it differently than they would if he waited at the airport like the other dude. I'm glad that dude got off but he also lucked out.

It's curious that the first thing you jumped to was the possibility of them being "lovers," considering the large age difference.
|
12515832, only because the initial article didn't mention the family connect Posted by Deadzombie, Sat Jul-19-14 04:16 PM
but it's not unlike an older gay person to 'get close to/assist' a younger gay person.
and yes i am understanding the circumstance of molestation/rape.
but again. only because the article that was posted initially omitted the information about him being a family member.
i kinda think that's a big omission.
i couldn't make the connection with access to the fathers home and doing repeatedly etc.
not knowing he was extended family, was i really that off thinking they could've been lovers?
|
12515839, What is this about: Posted by Goldmind, Sat Jul-19-14 04:39 PM
>but it's not unlike an older gay person to 'get close >to/assist' a younger gay person.
Huh? How do you know? I don't think 35-year-old and 18-year-old gay men spend much time together AT ALL; I wonder why you think differently.
>not knowing he was extended family, was i really that off >thinking they could've been lovers?
I mean, I often hear about this happening with heterosexual couples (e.g., a woman's boyfriend secretly, or not so secretly, molesting her daughter). But because I read that the perpetrator is 18, and because I know to use google after reading an article that's low on details, I didn't once consider the scandalous "lover" narrative.
|
12515938, what's the older guy and younger guy thing from? Posted by Deadzombie, Sat Jul-19-14 08:07 PM
>Huh? How do you know? I don't think 35-year-old and >18-year-old gay men spend much time together AT ALL; I wonder >why you think differently.
i think i picked that impression up in my travels, or television, or both.
>I mean, I often hear about this happening with heterosexual >couples (e.g., a woman's boyfriend secretly, or not so >secretly, molesting her daughter). But because I read that the >perpetrator is 18, and because I know to use google after >reading an article that's low on details, I didn't once >consider the scandalous "lover" narrative.
i mean, the idea of googling this story for more info never crossed my mind. i could type that i didn't care enough about it to begin a quest for more info about it, but more accurately i thought those details just weren't released, yet. i wanted to make the scoop.
thank you, i think.
no joke.

Legally the father could've used lethal force since he caught homeboy in the act.

Paedophile beaten unconscious by child's father handed 25 year prison sentence
Raymond Frolander, who was 18 at the time, was found by officers lying in a pool of his own blood
ROISIN O'CONNOR Friday 03 April 2015
A man who was beaten by the father of a child he was caught sexually abusing has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Raymond Frolander, from Daytona Beach, Florida, was beaten until he was unconscious and left with clear facial injuries after he was found abusing the 11-year-old boy last year.
The father called police after administering his own punishment.
Frolander, who was 18 at the time, was found by officers lying in a pool of his own blood.
According to a 911 recording, the unnamed father told the operator: "I just walked in and found a grown man molesting (my child) and I got him in a bloody puddle for you right now.
"Send an ambulance. He is going to need one."
The father ended the call by saying: “I did whatever I got a right to do, except I didn’t kill him.”
Frolander was charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12.
Speaking to investigators after the attack, the child said that he had been playing games with friends at the property; however, once those friends had left, Frolander began to sexually assault him.
The child also said that this had not been an isolated incident, and that Frolander had been abusing him since the age of eight.
According to Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood, Frolander was "almost like a family member" to his alleged victim and he had groomed his target for a period of time, having sex with the victim on multiple occasions.
The father was not charged with any crime.
Chitwood said the man was just "acting like a dad", and he didn’t see anything to charge him with.
Asked whether he had any issues with the father’s actions, Chitwood said: "Not as a police chief and not as a father."
Frolander took a deal to prevent a mandatory life sentence. However he will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life and will have to wear a GPS monitor upon his release, NBC News affiliate Wesh reported.
After the sentence, the father told reporters at the station: "He's going to learn in the next 25 years why I let him live."

12772058, But wait... the dad made a GoFundMe page requesting 1 million dollars tho?? Posted by ThisIs_ATruthThang, Sat Apr-04-15 09:47 AM
PAUSE!!!
per the CNN Link ; http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/22/justice/florida-father-beats-suspect/
Chitwood had a starkly different reaction this week to news that the father had published his son's photo on the Internet with a plea for cash.
After the boy's assault and his attacker's beating became national news, the father reportedly posted the photo on Facebook saying he needed $1 million to pay for the boy's care after the assault. He also set up a GoFundMe page, which Chitwood derided as a "disaster."
As of Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe link on the Facebook page directed visitors to a page asking for help saving a mother of four from being evicted. GoFundMe said in a statement that its privacy policy prevented it from divulging whether a user's page had gone live, but Chitwood confirmed he had seen it.
"My detectives and I went and looked at it. It was requesting 1 million dollars," he said. "It's out of control. Somebody's thinking 'We're going to cash in on this.' I didn't get it."
Chitwood also expressed concern that the victim could suffer additional psychological stress as a result of his dad's actions.
"He's a parent. He has to do what he thinks is right, but from a law enforcement perspective, we go through great lengths to protect identity of sex assault victims. There are psychological problems that come from being a victim. To put the kid out there is a disaster," he said. "I've been doing this 27 years. I've never seen anything like this."
Not like this... smh The father just lost all respect. How can you publish your son's photo and turn this into a money thing??
