b/c in the midwest & west there's a whole lot of christopher
williams-esque lightness, that's not necessarily mixty in any
direct sense.

those ppl tend to date each other, and it doesn't seem all that
strange.

when i was in atlanta, it was nothing for the deep purplest black
dude to be w/a lightskinned chick, and they were both looking
for greatness in each other.

in new york pretty much the same is true, except dark on dark
isn't so weird, whereas light on light does make you double take.

i can say that the vast majority of any 'real' hollers i get where
ppl are actually putting in some kind of work, and not just
out here for sport, seem to come from lightskinned dudes,
esp. of the spanish variety.

but conversely, i've had darkskinned dudes approach me like
'i bet you don't like darkskinned dudes, BUT---'

just leading w/defeat. which is sad yet interesting.
