are strict rules of exactly what type of engines they can use. NASCAR is only V8 engines. The size is the same for all cars (I believe it’s 5.8 liters). The individual parts have requirements. They get inspected to ensure that everything is consistent.
A team using an EV would be like them showing up with a motorcycle like “let’s go!”
