Let's be honest - how many 40+ pop artists can drop an album that REALLY hits commercially nowadays? Not speaking on the quality of the work whatsoever (I have not listened to the new Usher album), but while he may be able to tour for the rest of his life - it's just hard to think of legacy artists who are in that 40-45 zone who dropped another huge album.

Beyonce is kind of the only one I can think of, to be honest.

I actually think this is the sort of mentality Jennifer Lopez had after the Superbowl - and that album/project/tour flopped tremendously. It's a huge moment to be the Superbowl halftime show - no question. But it's more indicative that those who do the halftime show are usually legacy artists who are legendary. And by and large - nobody really gives a shit about a new Rolling Stones, Springsteen, Prince, etc album. They want the hits.
