13494374, HVAC? Not yet. Water heater? Yep

Our HVAC seems to be working. Finally had to cut it on last week when a cold front hit the east coast and my daughter got chilly. After the burn off from not being used half a year, all seems to be fine.

However, the hot water heater decided to die on us. No warning, just cold water one afternoon for no reason. Pilot light was out, and there was about 2 gallons of water in the water pan. So, we shut off the water line to the heater, vac'd out the pan and called the home warranty company. Still took over a week and $1200 (the heater and install were covered, but the extra parts for the heater were not). Only took 2 hours for the install. Unfortunately, it's a smaller heater (50 gallon vs. 65 gallon), so they had to add a thermostatic valve to try and compensate for the lost volume. Takes a few seconds longer to get the hot water thru the pipes, but it is nice and hot once it hits.

Houses, right?
