Go to any major event in the news cycle
Whatever that big story is
Someone will always chime with this exact rhetoric

“While y’all were distracted by_____, THIS much bigger thing happened”

It’s a nothing statement. Nobody is glued to one specific thing at all hours of every day.
And even if they were, the vast majority of those of us who are “distracted” are not in a position stop the Big Thing that happened when we’re distracted.

And to your question, you’re asking me to solve the huge problems democrats have had for decades.
