Elon Musk wants to be Henry Ford in every respect. Boeing workers are constantly having to strike for a company that apparently is relying on grifting and defense lobbying for all its revenue. People on the Eastside fought for years for more cars and grumbled about every transit project. In terms of the economic impact that King County has on the rest of the country, it might as well be Bentonville. Real estate markets are stupid funny money, and people pretend they care about homelessness but nothing ever happens. Pretty sure California’s public schools are plagued by standardization and charter saviors. Washington schools are still under that state Supreme Court admonishment for being racist, and Oregon can’t even pass taxes to pay for schools at all.

It’s better, but we have to remember that the percentage of people in Washington that voted for Jay Inslee the first time isn’t much higher than the percentage of people in Georgia that voted for Stacey Abrams.

I don’t see a civil war. It’ll have to be something weirder.
