the rnc already cleared the deck for him in 2020. refused to even discuss any primary debate schedule. there will be no challengers from within the party.

he consistently has near 90-percent approval among the party rank and file. repubs in congress are consolidating power around him and falling in line. and after november...regardless of what seats they win/lose...the repub coalition will be even more pro-trump.

if they need to purge the entire justice department and kill the mueller investigation...they will. and just live with the political consequences because they know the base will still come out and vote for him/them. and with the shitty job the media has been doing over the last 2 years (at least)...it will prolly be covered as a trump 'win'.

and theyre installing more and more pro-trump judges to further insulate him from legal penalty. and also to lock the opposition out of power electorally.

this is what is going on with authoritarian regimes all across the world right now.

this is what happened with the nazi party. hitler was some middling politician who was able to consolidate power among his faction by being anti- another faction.

trump isnt even conservative...as much as he is anti-liberal. and that unites the right.

the news keeps covering this entire period in our history like some damn reality tv show or snl skit. so people arent aware of the threat thats already upon us.
