there’s only a 15 year difference between my son and I. with this in mind. we haven’t spent a lot of time together. He was fortunate to have been born during a time when neighbors helped raised children, having a grandmother and great great uncles and aunts. He’s pretty well rounded. I love the father he is and the man he’s becoming.

my son has always been about saving his friends that only know the “hood”. He’s often labeled as uppity by them {one of the friend’s girlfriends told me} . Last night, I had a few over for game and we got into a discussion about “keeping it real”. Man. his one friend...whom never been exposed to white folks...he hates them. One of the many things I’m thankful for about my son is his ability to work amongst white folks. I believe he’s able to do so because of his upbringing. I wish you could witness how he’s trying to play savior tho...
