13228957, Hip-hop was hard to get into initially because it was so New York Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Wed Jan-24-18 11:21 AM
Growing up in VA and being a kid it was hard to relate to. My cousin gave me KRS-1's criminally minded and I was like, "yeah um, that's cool".
Then she gave me 3 Ft High & Rising and my head exploded. Didn't know you could do with hip-hop all the things they were doing.
Remember there were no skits before these dudes. There wasn't really any music from cats who didn't come from the hood.
Sooo dope. ********** "Everyone has a plan until you punch them in the face. Then they don't have a plan anymore." (c) Mike Tyson
