that area u talkn about was just some average type shit. they had a red roof over there and another hotel across the street and they werent bad at all. right up off sugar creek was a middle class neighborhood called hidden valley which was a nice decent neighborhood. fast fwd a few years ago and there is a special on gangs that talked about a "violent street gang" outta charlotte called the hidden valley kings lol. they turned that nice neighborhood into the straight up hood. i saw that episode and i was like WHAT??? these niggas got a gang episode dedicated to them like they were the compton pirus or some shit smh. but yeah that area went down bad in probably the mid-late 90s. uncc was 10 mins from there so we used to go there and hit up the fast food spots.
