he'd have about the same fraction that Hillary has of the Bernie supporters. And he certainly wouldn't have the disaffected Republicans and centrists who are giving Hillary her huge lead right now.

Yeah, Bernie would probably be leading right now, too, but his lead wouldn't be nearly as comfortable.

To win a general election you need a big tent. Bernie would struggle with that almost as much as Trump is. And whatever you might say about the passion of Bernie's supporters, Trump's supporters have more of it. If the race is about the passion of the base, Trump wins.
