That is, we don't know what we should attribute the rise in autism diagnoses to. I'm sure there's a lot more nuance that could be provided by someone better informed on that particular issue.

But with regard to the "connection" to vaccines, it's important to note that fact that we don't know the correct hypothesis does not mean we should fall back to a hypothesis that's already been disproven. We don't have to know what it *is* before we can know what it *isn't*.
