emojis are more similar to avatars, as in a representation of one self.

a lighter is more similar to a car. something that serves a function and purpose.

the color of the car/lilghter does not reflect the color of the driver/owner.

but, like avatars, the color of the emoji is supposed to represent the color of the communicator.

that's why it was such a big deal when we got them (black emojis) right?
