e.g. this website. It's ugly, looks like it runs on code that's 10+ years old, if you 'Inspect Element' and look at the HTML/CSS there's a ton of things that wouldn't pass a code review in 2016 ... but it fuckin works!!

Same goes for most apps. Several years back an early version of Facebook's code leaked and it was some god-awful PHP, and not "v1.0" FB but like 2007-2008 Facebook. But look where they at now..

So I guess the job has made me appreciate that it's not always about having the most thought-out approach and that JUST FUCKING DOING SHIT is important too
