12966844, I know you're addressing perception rather than reality.

I read a comparison between Bernie's economic proposals and Canadian law (under a conservative government no less). Bernie is STILL to the right of Canadian policy.

I know I sound like a typical Bernie supporter....but I think there's a mental block in America. There is SOOO much room to move left. And it's been done in the rest of the most powerful nations. These things seem outlandish....but they're really not. I guess, from the outside, listening to liberals in the US.....it's like alot of you guys don't realize how conservative the country has become. Obama is farther right than most conservative parties in other rich countries.

I realize none of this really addresses your point but yah. The water's warm. You guys can embrace more socialist practices. Life will be better for the average citizen. The delusion of 'freedom' and civil liberties is preventing the country from being more civilized. There is nobody in France, Canada, Australia that yearns to be free from government tyranny. Do the rich complain about taxes sometimes? Yes. But the average person is better off. I might be preaching to the converted on here....but the disappearing middle class in the US puts them in danger of extreme politics. Eventually, sentiments will veer either to the right of left. Gotta go left.
