The Roots made a great song. They didn't make some preachy bullshit that didn't go beyond the tip of their noses.

The message always comes after the stuff that makes people want to listen. If you care so much about a message, go write a book or start a podcast.

Music is about...music. All that "listen to my lyrics" crap is for people who suck at doing the very thing they're trying to pretend they're good at.
