I typically work the weekends and the spot I work at is just a bar/restaurant so I don't get to see many DJs spin anyway, but we do events and this wedding production company is in the same building as us so they wanted to have an investors party at our spot. Had people from all over the midwest in to celebrate and one of their local DJs play the spot.


This dude had the Harden mohawk with no-lens glasses and a half-suit on, was drinking Negronis until it was time for his set, had his headphones on over his forehead on some Star Trek shit...and proceeded to play the first minute of every major song form the past 15 years with no transitions, loops, anything. Just moving right along.


I was amazed he didn't bust out the Chicken Dance or Cupid Shuffle.


I haven't been so annoyed by a so-called Music Dude in a long while. There was no taste to it, no class, no flair, no build...and the worst part was, his crowd ATE IT UP. I was so mad. Big guy that insisted on me calling him Godfather kept ordering "that fruity cocktail you made me before" which I mostly bullshitted out of Dekuyper liqueurs yet he loved the shit out of but refused to tip for because he was "part of the party and these drinks ain't free".


Bad DJs, ugh...
