in PTP, someone pointed out that it's the same thing that happened to Khaleesi when she married...it's de rigeur for arranged marriages in this universe. didn't make it any easier to watch, of course...and i guess it seemed more brutal because we knew/loved Sansa more at this point than we did Khaleesi at that point
