FX's 'Sons of Anarchy' rides into final season with deadly intent
By Greg Braxton
August 29, 2014, 12:00 PM

Seven years have passed since the members of Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original locked the picturesque hamlet of Charming, Calif., in their lawless grip, filling the streets with murder, mayhem and all manner of reckless havoc.

But now the rambunctious bikers of SAMCRO are nearing the end of their road — and they are uneasy riders. Deadly jeopardy is around almost every twist and turn, not only from rivals but also from wary allies in their criminal endeavors.

Meanwhile, Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam), the gang's young and conflicted leader, is battling a more wrenching crisis: His wife, Tara (Maggie Siff), was brutally murdered, and he's enlisting his brothers-in-arms for a coldblooded mission of vengeance aimed at those he suspects may have been responsible, unaware that the real culprit is his beloved mother, Gemma (Katey Sagal) — the controlling matriarch who speared Tara in the head repeatedly with a carving fork during a vicious showdown.

The whirlwind circle of life and death inaugurates the Sept. 9 launch of the seventh and final season of "Sons of Anarchy," the most popular — and bloody — series in the history of FX. The drama about the group of hard-living merry men and their "ol' ladies" drew a weekly average of more than 10 million viewers last year, cementing the cable network's stature as a formidable outlet for aggressive, offbeat dramas such as "The Shield," "The Americans," "American Horror Story" and the Emmy-winning miniseries "Fargo."

The series subscribes to a central theme in contemporary TV drama, the charismatic antihero, while injecting it with a colorful blue-collar vibe that reflects a sizable audience once largely ignored by producers and writers in Hollywood and New York. Its success at finding and pleasing this niche is emblematic of much current TV.

And what a long, strange, weird trip it has been. "Sons of Anarchy's" volcanic mash of dark humor, octane-heavy action and webs of intrigue, deceit and betrayal consciously echoes Shakespearean themes and anchors them in a story of iron-tight family ties and unbreakable bonds of brotherhood. Relentless scenes of over-the-top mayhem and maiming have placed the series in the top ranks of TV's most violent dramas, alongside "Game of Thrones," "The Walking Dead" and "Boardwalk Empire."

The drama has also made its mark in other ways, propelling Hunnam — an actor from Newcastle, England, who made his first mark as a seductive gay teen in the British "Queer as Folk" — to Hollywood heartthrob and leading-man status. He starred in last year's hit "Pacific Rim" and was the first actor named to the upcoming film version of the soft-core "Fifty Shades of Grey" (he eventually withdrew because of scheduling conflicts). The series also gave a juicy dramatic role to Sagal, best known as the wacky Peg Bundy on "Married … With Children."

"It has been an amazing journey that I never would have imagined happening," said Kurt Sutter, the outspoken architect of this universe as he sat in the spacious Sherman Oaks office headquarters of the show. With his trim ponytail, black T-shirt and long short pants disclosing a collection of bold tattoos, Sutter, a Rutgers University graduate who was an executive producer on "The Shield," looks more like a cast member than a show runner. (He cast himself in a brief recurring role as a tortured Sons member.)

The time to end "Sons of Anarchy" is right, he maintained; he made the decision a few years ago to wrap it up after seven seasons. But now he's in a bit of a denial mode: "I don't want to deal with the sadness."

A former addict with a no-holds-barred personality, Sutter gained a hard-bitten reputation in 2010 after unleashing a rash of acid-tipped tweets and blog posts aimed at a variety of targets, including the television academy voters, who had repeatedly ignored the series. There have also been dynamite confrontations on the set between Sutter and Hunnam, which at times came close to replicating a show story line.

These days Sutter appears much calmer. He's made peace with the academy, which has hosted "Sons of Anarchy" panels, and he and Hunnam express an unqualified love for each other. Still, he is grappling with both anticipation and dread in closing out the saga that has consumed him for almost a decade. "There are moments when I do get overwhelmed," he said. "This is a big … dysfunctional family, but it's family. Everyone who is here really wants to be here, loves to be here, and that's rare. One of our goals now is to look on this as just another season."

Still, "Sons of Anarchy" is not riding quietly off into the sunset. The season opener is bookended by shocking crimson moments. The season will feature some offbeat guest stars, including Malcolm-Jamal Warner ("The Cosby Show") and Lea Michele ("Glee"). And at least a few cast members are likely to meet very bad ends before the final ride concludes.

Legions of rabid "Sons of Anarchy" fans paid their respects at San Diego's Comic-Con last month, filling the massive Hall H. When executive producer Paris Barclay saluted Sutter for taking him and the cast on "such a great ride," the throng responded so vigorously that Sutter, rarely at a loss for words, was almost speechless with choked-up emotion.

A steady climb

The start of the "SOA" road to success was not nearly that grand. While biker clubs and motorcycle enthusiasts were excited about the show, the mainstream entertainment media weren't as revved up. The large cast was mostly unknown, with the exception of Sagal, Sutter's wife, and Ron Perlman, who had made a career out of hiding his face: He was the star of the "Hellboy" films and the "Beauty and the Beast" TV series with Linda Hamilton.

Some reviewers gave the series an encouraging reception. Los Angeles Times television critic Robert Lloyd wrote, "It's a superior package, intelligently constructed and handsomely executed." Variety's Brian Lowry was not as generous: "There's just so little dimension to the characters that it's difficult to care."

After premiering to 2.9 million viewers, ratings grew steadily, including a solid corps of women. The costars who constitute the members of the "Sons" — Tommy Flanagan ("Chibs"), Theo Rossi ("Juice"), Mark Boone Junior ("Bobby") and Kim Coates ("Tig") — all have hundreds of thousands of Twitter followers and make appearances all over the world, particularly in Germany, Australia and the U.K.

The only series on the TV landscape that comes close to "Sons of Anarchy" in visceral grit and atmosphere is AMC's "The Walking Dead," in which motley survivors battle flesh-eating zombies. All the dangers on "Sons" come from humans.

TV historian Tim Brooks said the show has reached out to a smaller but still potent viewership hungry for more novel fare than more broader-based series such as "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" or "The Big Bang Theory." "This show is so counter to what a broad audience would watch, yet it demonstrates how a model like this can not only last" but also succeed, he said.

FX Networks head John Landgraf said audiences have responded because "first and foremost, it's good storytelling, a ripping good yarn with a really distinctive world that had not been explored in television. It has an excellent cast, and it's very funny, darkly comedic.

"When I picked it up, I had noticed that the success of certain reality shows such as 'Ice Road Truckers' and 'The Deadliest Catch' was a real indication that there was an appetite for a certain kind of gritty blue-collar reality that wasn't being reflected on broadcast networks. This takes on a world of gritty tough men that is often overlooked."

Meaningful journey

Though there are numerous elements to the "SOA" world, the explosive dynamic between Sutter and Hunnam is central. They mirror each other in intensity and drive.

"This has been the great creative experience of my life," said Hunnam, 34, amid a long day at the North Hollywood studios where "SOA" shoots. Another long night on location was ahead of him, but the actor was talkative and gracious as he relaxed in his trailer.

"I'm really sad to be saying goodbye to these guys and this cast and this world that I've come to love a great deal. It's really exciting to be part of a show that really means something."

But there were a few bumps along the way, and the actor and his boss at times wound up on a creative collision course. Hunnam said Sutter would challenge him and his portrayal of the show's heroes, with fiery consequences.

"One of the things that Jax always has to deal with is being overwhelmed and dealing with self-doubt," he said. "I felt that acutely during the course of the show, of being overwhelmed, and that sometimes brought out the very worst in me.

"I've had a very short fuse at times," he conceded. "Kurt and I have very similar personalities. We both can have robust reactions. There's been so much love, but there have been those other times when I tried to engage him in hand-to-hand combat."

Ultimately, the two made peace: "Working with him has been the greatest collaboration of my life," said Hunnam, whose plans include producing his first screenplay, "Vlad," with Plan B, Brad Pitt's production company, and starring in the planned sequel to "Pacific Rim." He also reportedly is considering playing King Arthur in a Guy Ritchie film.

Sutter said the clashes were never personal and were all about the work. He has choked up at premieres when praising Hunnam, calling him a true brother: "We're at a place where we'd take a bullet for each other."

As the sun sets on "Sons," Sutter is preparing to embark on his next project for FX — a pilot for a period piece called "The Bastard Executioner" about a warrior knight in King Edward III's charge. He is developing the project with producer Brian Grazer, who came up with the idea.

But TV success is self-replicating, and "Sons of Anarchy" is not totally vanishing. "Sons of Anarchy" comic books have already started to appear, and novelizations are on their way. Sutter is mulling a prequel to the series. "It would be a completely different tonal piece," he said. "That is a real possibility."

i saw that time stamp on my dvr, and was like fuck this
i watched the intro but i'ma hafta watch the rest of this shit in shifts

i'm hoping it's some kind of skippable q&a talk show at the end

gripe 2: was it totally necessary for me to see juiceass in montage # 1 of 3080?

gripe 3: they're starting early with all the black-white-yellow-brown-green clovers bullshit- i'm gonna need a flowchart

more gripes soon come

i'm all in tho regardless of the constant bitching
79718, It's *only* 90 minutes

Things happening for no reason (Unser immediately going into random detective mode) things happening with no repercussions (broad daylight wild west shooutouts), and things happening that completely dimiss the show's past. (Jax having 100% faith and belief in Gemma). And so much acoustic. Welcome back.

he ties up unser.
and next episode he's SNITCHING AGAIN!

i felt so bad for asian dude he got tied up by jax. jax ain't even give him a chance to explain himself.

I wish we could have a different plot line other than blame the other gang. All this shit could have been avoided if Jax talked to asian dude.

this season is supposed to be jax unleashed but he's still doing sneaky assassin shit.
79727, NOPE!! Genuine Gemma said she saw him, must be true
Posted by ErnestLee, Wed Sep-10-14 12:20 PM
Remember when Jax wanted *proof* before making any rash decisions? Yea, neither does Sutter.

79728, LOL, two hours past and nothing really happened
Posted by Calico, Wed Sep-10-14 02:51 PM
...like really...nothing important happened...we all knew Jax was gonna get outta jail quickly

nothing happened that surprised me or even seemed important, or than the fact that Gemma is setting them all up to get killed

the wheelchair scene WAS hilarious, as was Unser looking through ole girl's house, and his convo with the DA...how can one man's life be so messed up...i feel bad for unser the most, cause he's like a loyal puppy to those guys....

much love to Sutter and Company blowing themselves via "talk show" after too...that was interesting

C'mon, Charlie Hunnam just badass walks around for 90 minutes every week, Sagal cougars it up, Juice is a bitch, the effects are Sharknado level (wheelchair scene was epic), and Jimmy Smits STILL chews up and spits out scenery when he's front and center, even though it doesn't make sense. Yall notice that the whole episode was a rehash of the last 1-2 episodes?

How did the police force not pull some sort of clues out of that bloodstained room?

Did they not know that Tara and Gemma have documented aggressions toward each other?

Why didn't they even attempt to tell a story about the aftermath of the previous events?

Why didn't the plot progress much even though the new season is set 10 days after the previous episode?

Did they seriously just show me a CGI'd version of the James Byrd Jr. lynching?

Why does Jax all of a sudden trust Gemma now after Tara's death?

Why does Marilyn Manson look like Livia Soprano now?

What is with that montage?

Why do these characters not act based on their personal motivations and instead by the whims of Kurt Sutter and his writers?

Why does Gemma think that redirecting Jax is going to "save the club"?

BTW. Isn't this the same plot they've done 2-3 times before? Blaming another gang for a murder or some shit?

Are we going to deal with Jax sitting all slumped in that chair in the club house, begrudgingly bringing down that gavel? Heavy is the head that wears the crown, motherfucker.

How are all of these gangs converging outside of apartment buildings 16 deep without somebody calling the police or something? Is Charming just that fucked up? Is it one big ass hood with a candy store and a bakery?

Why does this show treat violence like an afterthought? It's murder porn. And I love violence in my TV shows and movies. But this violence isn't even warranted and even devalues any other deaths in the whole series. What the fuck is up with that second gunshot that hits that woman in the face. Was that some 70's paper mache shit they mocked up in post production?

This show insults the shit out of my intelligence.

I just hope Nero gets out alive and fuck everybody else. Either they're irredeemable gaping assholes or they're so goddamn annoying that I don't give a fuck what happens to them. If you're going to fill your show with irredeemable gaping assholes and annoying dickbags, you better make them watchable.

I've been rewatching The Sopranos for the first time since the series ended. Just about every character is horrible and selfish pricks but they were funny, colorful, charming in some respects and i eventually rooted for them at some parts. You even liked Jackie Jr. when he was being a shitbag.

This show? Bunch of pieces of shit. Fighting for shit. With shit dialogue and I'm going to enjoy watching Kurt Sutter fuck up.

The fuck is wrong with me?

i'm out.

the circle of Juice, Gemma, Wayne, and their carelessly scattered clues is just annoying and uninteresting.

I like dude who plays the other Mayan prez (Masseria from Boardwalk). i hope that actor gets more work, in better stuff.

So much GTA shit on this show that characters are bringing it up now?

the fox/obama line. i laughed.

the Abel kid is still the worst child actor in history. i wish they'd finally stop making us try to care about Abel. I didn't care about him in the incubator. i didn't care about him in Belfast. Now i just hope he chokes on a chicken bone.

Posted by ErnestLee, Thu Sep-18-14 08:05 PM
I wouldnt have such a like/hate with the show. But the fact that Sutter thinks he needs 75-90 minutes every single week to regurgitate the same exact plotlines with zero character development is so dam annoying. This is a 45 minute show, max.
79754, RIP Randomly Placed Water Tower in the chase sequence. (More ranting)
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Fri Sep-19-14 10:41 AM
That shit looked like Dukes of Hazzard. And what's with this public domain music database ass late 90's nu metal they keep using for the chase sequences? It's all WWE Titantron music.

Also, I've finally discovered ANOTHER thing I can't stand about this show. Every season or so there's The Club vs. The Black Gang. The Club vs the Latino Gang. The Club vs. The White Supremacists. Now it's being set up as The Club vs. The Chinese Gang.

These shits are set up like sports schedules. There's no dynamism here.

Also, we're used to the police being either incompetent or corrupt so it allows The Club to kinda move and act with impunity. But the other gangs seem to have the same level of impunity. There's no real agency in trying to catch or arrest any of these gangs.

Jax turns himself in, gets out less than 2 weeks later and about a dozen people in Charming die from mysterious bullet sized puncture wounds within a few days? Even in the Sopranos, after the FBI kinda got smoked out in the trail behind the family, it was still a viable threat to them. They weren't knocking on his door and showing up to his restaurant or whatever but it was still over Tony's head.

These motherfuckers ended last season with the murder of a police officer IN A SAMCRO MEMBER'S HOME and these niggas ain't even getting parking tickets.

i'm out.

this is the part that trips me out the most...at least 2 sherriff's/police officers have died around SAMCRO, and in this lil town the body count has to be high, but there is no real police pressure on them...didn't the fed dude have them dead to rights but let it all go cause he wanted the NRA?? what happened to Logue's character from last year??

Posted by PlanetInfinite, Mon Sep-22-14 04:11 PM
They did some bullshit like "We have to allow a MAJOR GUN DEAL to go through or we'll lose funding" plot line to allow SAMCRO to just go through with very little direct consequence and Lincoln Potter got pissed off about it.

So basically, Potter was set up as this big bad (and he did a great job playing it) in Season 4 but some unexpected ass Deus Ex Machina lands in his lap and saves SAMCRO at the last minute.

Shits disgusting.

So word spreads about everything within 5 seconds (like the niner revolt) but none of these guys are keeping tabs on eachother by telling them they have meetings with Jax? The one guy trusts the SOA to get led to a storage unit and basically let them kill them?

The Gemma scenes talking to Tara? WTF

I could go on and on... Gemma dying was always the end game, I still want to see that, but I want Jax to go down with her... I agree with post above, I'd rather root for Juice, I hope he brings everyone down

So new cop makes snide remark about gettin some and making money, next thing they're handing her $2k in a parking lot? is it that easy to not get caught?

I didn't get the Able hate until today. I never liked the scenes where they went back to him but they never bothered me. the one's in this episode where dragging me down. "is daddy a bad man?" yup, and your grandma and you're real momma and everyone else in your life except that dude with no fingers. he seems to be the only stand up guy associated with the family (and we all remember his entrance to the show)

what about the other kid? I don't even know his name but his momma just died and aint no one taking care of him, he stuck in a room with babysitter about to get it. He's gonna be the one to grow up and take over the family business, because he's gonna have it tough growing up. Able will probably move out of Charming, he just can't hang with the streets.

in what happens next

this is pretty much the show for all the people who bitched about The Sopranos not having enough killing. It's hard to have deaths hold any weight when 20 people die each week. They brought Saracen's mom back just to knock her off but i don't remember her enough to care about her. I felt worse for the airhead girl. I'm actually kind of surprised they had enough restraint not to show us a bunch of hookers getting mowed down.

Juice cries and shows his ass... again.
Tig and Tranny Boyd Crowder... ehh
Chibs and the cop.. what is that?

The the whole scene at the house.. "help. my mama" .... more video game shit.

it's safe to assume Courtney Love is gonna have some kind of criminal hook up that will turn out to be a big help to the club.

Yet after all that, i'm thinking, i can't wait for all the reinforcements to show up and for them to go hard on the chinese!

even for SOA, it's a bit much that the pastor they accidentally killed a week ago, just happens to be the one the guy Marks needs to sign off on some shit.

I gotta at least assume that the Bastards leader who led them over there knew what he was doing.

How do Jax and them not make that connection? They're just like "gee wiz, what a small world"

I pretty much they were just going to play it for laughs, and let you know what was obviously going on, but never show it.

And I felt that kiss thru the screen! Like Woah!

- Okay so Bobby last season wanted to take the club in a different direction right? Shooting the shit out of those dude the other week was definitely NOT in the direction we all thought he wanted to take it right? Did I miss something?

- Jenna Jameson looks like Tig's fucking burned up daughter now. Holy shit. That porn scene was fucking stupid. You'd think a porn company run by a biker gang would go for something a bit more budget conscious. Gonzo POV gangbang shit or whatever. what's crazy is that the scene is set up to look like the beginning of a lesbian scene but then they cut an they WRAP. WAS THAT THE END OF THE FUCKING PORN SCENE? Or was this a reshoot for the Chinese release?

- The dude with no hands has no point in the story right? A LOT of these characters have overstayed their welcome and are just hanging around. Including fucking Unser. He's had cancer for 7 years.

- Charlie Hunnam doesn't even fucking try to hide his goddamn accent anymore. He might as well just imitate Chibbs at this point.

- ANOTHER WEEK ANOTHER THREE OR FOUR OF THE SAME GANGS MEETING IN DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS AND STILL ABLE TO TRAVEL AROUND WITHOUT A POLICE TAIL CONSIDERING AN OFFICER WAS KILLED NOT LONG AGO. These niggas met in some sort of alley, a vague ass dock, a limo in a parking lot somewhere and ain't NOBODY on a radar.

- AND ANOTHER WEEK OF NIGGAS CONSTANTLY TRUSTING SAMCRO. The second they walked up in that warehouse I KNEW the shit was gonna happen, man. Dumb ass niner niggas. How you fall for that. Stop trusting racist white supremacist murderous biker gangs.

- You punch a woman and a week later she shows up with a cake guess what I would do? Open the door and invite her in. Classic gemma with the cake trick.

Fuck this show.

I'm gonna watch the other night's episode tonight. Christ. Why am i putting myself through this.

ALSO: Fuck Abel. I hate that kid. I don't like his face and I hope his career never pans out in the future. He should just get a job working for the city or something.

it's not a bit unreasonable that a bunch of bikers, or criminals, or cops of any kind would say racist shit, but they keep shoehorning it into the weirdest places and it all feels so unnatural.

The Sopranos kinda struggled with black thug characters, but they were excellent at the racist moments their main characters had (Tony dealing with Noah, or Unidentified Black Males). it never felt like they were trying too hard.

79850, can someone remind me what the deal is with Juice and Nero?
Posted by Playa_Politician, Fri Oct-03-14 08:28 PM
i remember Juice admitting he killed Nero's girl (prostitute) but was Nero supposed to take him out or something?

79851, yeah i'm confused on that too
Posted by Mynoriti, Sat Oct-04-14 06:25 AM
i can't remember why Nero should care if Juice is around or not. especially since he seems to have forgiven Jax.

did Jax convince Nero that Juice acted on his own? I don't remember if that was a thing they showed, but seeing that every single person on this show except for Gemma is so fucking gullible, that's probably it.
79852, RE: yeah i'm confused on that too
Posted by gumz, Sat Oct-04-14 07:13 AM
Nope he was pissed at Jax and I think they fought over it but they seem fine now. No clue what his beef with Juice would be. He knows he's just taking orders.
79853, Juice snitched about killing Dave Navarro and his old lady
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Sat Oct-04-14 07:54 PM
since it was their kid that went on the shooting spree with the tech that Jax n' Team Fuck Up sold to Nero's crew.

Juice broke down and told Nero about suffocating the girl. Jax previously told Nero they had nothing to do with it, so trust was lost.

Jax was asking Nero to see if he was the one hiding Juice, simple feint on Jax's part.

79854, RE: when are Gemma and Jax gonna fuck

I now think this each and every week.
79855, Episode 4 of the fucking last season.
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Tue Oct-07-14 05:35 PM
- I'm really sick of this stunt casting, man. "Hey look Courtney Love is a teacher. That's pretty ironic right?"

- Gemma is talking to Tara, of course. Kurt Sutter has found out a way to narrate his character's feelings without actual actions or context clues in the dialogue. Holy shit.

- ^^^ About that. I kinda tuned out, looking at my phone at that part and came back like "Who is she talking to?". How stupid of me. She's talking to Tara. Of course she's talking to Tara. How could I forget about Tara? Nobody can forget about Tara except for the Charming Police Department BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT HOW SHE DIED. NOT ONE GODDAMN CLUE.

- that cold open was fucking 12 minutes long, man. F/X is fucking killing me here.

- The Althea line was so bullshit. Okay they're racists. We know, Sutter and writing staff. Did they really have to TUCK that shit in? And why was she racist when there weren't any other races in the fucking room? Why can't Gemma just be a catty stupid asshole and have her slap a black Diosa hooker in the face for existing?

- Annabeth Gish is wasted. She's wasted just like most people in this show. Nobody acts. Nobody emotes. They don't add anything to the dialogue. There's no use of silence. No tension is built up in any of these scenes. Everybody phones the shit in. It's like before every take Sutter goes "Don't give a fuck. Take 2!"

- NO COPS. MUGGS START SHOOTING IN THE HOUSE. NO COPS. NIGGA DRIVES HIS CAR INTO A FUCKING LAKE NO COPS. THEY GOT TIME TO SIT THE FUCK AROUND AND TALK ABOUT THE REVEREND OR WHATEVER. NO COPS. NO NOTHING. NOT EVEN A SIMPLE THROWAWAY "LET'S GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE" WHILE SOME SIRENS GO OFF IN THE BACKGROUND.

- Oh that's why I can't find any cops. They can't fucking keep a cop for shit. If you're a Niner, a Chinese gangster or a black police officer, your life expectancy is "whatever".

- Tig and Transgender Vendrell have the purest relationship in the whole show. I hope they live til the end and drive off into the sunset.

- "The next time that candy shop could be filled with kids" THAT CANDY SHOP WILL NEVER BE FILLED WITH KIDS BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS FILLED WITH FUCKING SAMCRO MEMBERS, LADY. YOU CAN'T FIT KIDS IN THERE WHEN IT'S CHOCK FULL OF FUCKING SAMCRO MEMBERS.

- That was a very upbeat song to show off a massacre aftermath. I don't even have anything for that last scene. I'm just getting tired of all this bullshit violence. It's not even shocking anymore, man. When you gundown 7-8 Chinese gangsters during a gun buy two episodes ago, this doesn't even look that bad to me.

Fuck this show.

Again: Fuck Abel. Between him and that lil ugly ass Carrie + Brody baby I hope they both just get out of showbiz.

i'm out.

...been doing that the last couple weeks since POI is back...it's been great....i don't get as mad at this show...but i have a another question though....

how is the audience supposed to feel when jax is out there starting all this "life ending" trouble for himself? i really wanted Lin to whoop his ass, but then i remembered what show i was watching...they drew the fight out and shot it like we in the audience are supposed to be rooting for jax, but the whole season i don't know how someone sees him as anything other than an idiot....are we supposed to feel sorry for him when he figures out he's been duped?? why should i??

BTW...Lin's reaction after the beatdown encompasses everything i think about the show now
79869, lol this shit is just insulting
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Oct-08-14 05:36 PM
everyone is monumentally gullible, and so much shit happens for no reason

what was really the point of having juice kill the hotel guy? did we need another body or another reason for him to be scared, or to show us how unser is torn between doing the right thing and loyalty to the club?

So Lin finds Nero's intel to be false...and has Jax cornered, but now Lin is confused... he just slaughtered a club full of innocents to send Jax a message, but Jax says he hasn't talked to Nero and it wasn't him. How does Henry Lin get to top of the food chain being this gullable. (same goes for Marcus Alvarez... T-tt-tyler, and all other gang leaders on this show)

now Jax has Lin and his whole crew cornered, and decides to have a fight instead. Can Jax lose a fight? Ever? He wanted it to be slow? why not put Lin in the van and bounce so you can torture him instead of doing this shit in broad daylight?

hey Nero, maybe now would be a good time go check on your kid instead of chilling at Redwoody

They've pretty much ruined Nero. he's an idiot

does anyone really think Gemma's in any danger? Nero will just get her back from Alvarez.

STOP WITH THE ABEL SCENES, FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST!

more chinese guys with guns that just stand there and get shot by guys shooting machine guns with one hand while on Harleys

everything with Chibs and the Sheriff? lol

how did the bag of heroin not get shot?

79878, RE: i really wish Juice would have killed Gemma...i hate this show

Also, the scene where Gemma first explains what happened to Tara (in the episode where she points out Lin's guy) was a terrible example of acting. It seemed so forced and unconvincing
79879, "8 episodes left" is bad enough
Posted by Mynoriti, Thu Oct-09-14 03:21 PM
and agreed with you and funklectic. her lies don't even come off as the least bit believable. Jax and Nero...not one bit skeptical. The club isn't skeptical... or Unser (for some reason i thought he knew)... they all just go along with it. I try go give Nero a pass because he's sucker for love, but he's become too dumb to feel sorry for.
Jax already knows she had his dad killed... which is something they stopped bringing up after drawing out that stupid john teller shit for 4 years.. and didn't a bunch of people have to die so that info we had all stopped caring about after season 1 wouldn't get out?

2 more months of this shit?

Posted by gumz, Fri Oct-10-14 12:33 AM
that still bugs me out. the whole reason Clay had to die (which also took forever) and the fact that this has always been compared to MacBeth was all that shit and now none of it matters even though she's still out there fucking shit up without any consequence...why did he even forget...what made him forgive her? what even happened when he found out? i don't even remember. but now she says some ol' bullshit and nobody even questions it. when something like this the drama would be heightened by someone somewhere being the one person who is trying to bring the truth to light but on this show ABSOLUTELY NOONE is trying to do that. not even Juice. he gives no fucks and is just running around suddenly too retarded to do anything other than mope and kill people by accident and take hostages every single episode (remember when he had Unser locked up?). this shit makes no sense at all. Sutter done lost is muthafucking mind.

You have lower restrictions on who you let stay around in your own crew than when you join the shady white boys?

And Juice. Dude had to be a dumbass before he joined the Sons. Like in real life, any type of person who's entire family has already turned their back on them, %99 of the time you don't want them.

Posted by rjc27, Wed Oct-15-14 08:02 AM
What exactly does Juice have to lose right now by spilling his big secret? He just sits there like a moping pussy! Somehow Jax doesn't find out that Juice had Gemma's car, only Nero conveniently does... Gemma is not only talking to Tara in a mirror but now loudly out in public with numerous people around? Jax wins every deal with a last minute plot but nobody has tried to plot against him at all? Marks has been MIA for 4 weeks and somehow hasn't caught wind of any of this after he used to roll up on Jax daily?

This show would have never made it past season 1 if it was always this piss poor

The worst part was Jax smiling when telling Gemma to tell the cops what she saw "they'll never offer Lin a deal if they find out he killed a wife and a mother"
79917, i'm assuming Juice will spill the beans next week

or he'll come up with some stupid lie that protects both him and Gemma. He'll blame Sheriff Dice Raw, and come up with a reason Gemma blamed the Chinese instead. Then Gemma will spend the episode thinking Jax is gonna kill her but he'll wind up saying "mom i'm so sorry this happened to you", and hugging her.

>has tried to plot against him at all? Marks has been MIA for 4
>weeks and somehow hasn't caught wind of any of this after he
>used to roll up on Jax daily?

i figure one of these groups has to cross Jax and run to Marks. it's pretty ridiculous.

>The worst part was Jax smiling when telling Gemma to tell the
>cops what she saw "they'll never offer Lin a deal if they find
>out he killed a wife and a mother"

LOL i forgot about that like 10 seconds later, but my reaction was " lol huh??" Now that you brought it up it sounds even more absurd.

>what was going on there? I completely missed that.

Lost me too so I had to google it, found this from an episode recap...

The news gives Jax enough to go on to team up with the Grim Bastards to take down the East Dub crew with a little help from Tyler to track down their new leader Dulane (the same guy who ran over three Grim Bastards at the start of this season) and a plot to finally eliminate Marks once and for all.
79922, so they did that to solidy their allegiance to the Grim crew
Posted by gumz, Wed Oct-15-14 04:43 PM
ok that makes sense i guess...that was a true GTA moment though
79923, Yea it basically wrapped up a few missions

79925, Marks assigned East Dub to take out the Grim Bastards
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Oct-15-14 07:10 PM
Tyler said, as part of Mark's plan to take out Samcro, he's having East Dub take out their support (lol @ support. there's like 6 Grim Bastards)

and that he will probably task the Niners with taking out the Sons. Tyler agreed to point out DuLain for them.

and LOL @ Jax floating them being patched over to the Sons, or taking them on along on a mission for no reason, but to hang back and get spotted by the AB so they can have a fight?
79926, Yeah I admittedly wasn't paying attention when they spoke to Tyler
Posted by gumz, Thu Oct-16-14 06:50 AM
that fight was hilarious...so pointless. And showing up with all the bodies lol. I'll be honest with the amount of racism they've been spewing lately I was kinda worried about what they were going to do to get on that guy's good side.
79927, Sons aren't gonna be the ones who kill Juice
Posted by PierreOrdinaire, Wed Oct-15-14 02:09 PM
They're going to send him on a suicide mission to "redeem" himself. That's what I got out of the preview, anyway.

Let's just get this shit over with though. How many episodes are left?
79928, too many
Posted by gumz, Wed Oct-15-14 04:44 PM
79929, i actually thought this was the least annoying episode of the season
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Oct-15-14 06:09 PM
it had the usual shoot-outs, fights, gratuitous killing, and racism, and dragging out on of the juice story, Wendy professing her love for Jax even though last season he roughed her up and tried to turn her into a junkie again... ok it was kind of annoying, BUT... no Abel, or drawn out montages, and i didn't hate anyone any more than i did last week.

Juice is single handedly the dumbest of all AYADMFs in the world.

Gemma tries to kill you and what do you do? "I'm just going to send her packing and take this truck to the Mayans and try to get out of dodge"

"Shit, the Mayans wanna sell me up river, and I've got intel I should be telling to get off the hook. Maybe I should drop hints and try to build some cred with the other BIKER GANG that probably follows similar rules as mine."

"Nah, I'll just hold it in and see what this broom closet has to offer."

Well shit it's Nero in here too! I know he's mad but he has a heart. Maybe if I let him know what really happened with Tara, he can work something out with the Mayans?

"Nah, I'm just going to wait here and welcome my on coming death. Wait, I'll just drop some subtle hint that Gemma's involved with may getaway."

79945, I SAT THROUGH TWO EPISODES IN A FUCKING ROW. GUGGHUASDHFIASF
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Fri Oct-17-14 08:50 AM
- Once again, showing SAMCRO just standing around a pile of dead bodies moments after a major gunfight highlights how inept Charming police are as a presence. It actually highlights how inept Charming is as a total society. Unless Lin's men used nothing but silenced weapons, there's no reason why nobody heard this massacre going on.

- "This might vibrate all the way up to Sacramento". The San Ysidro Massacre in the 1980s resulted in 21 people dying and like 20 people injured. If some shit like this happened in real life, kids in Turkey would he holding signs on some "We Stand with Charming" type shit.

- "Abel's a smart kid" No he's not. He's not fucking smart. And he's dead eyed.

- At this point, I'm actually ROOTING for Lin. I want Lin to win this whole thing but I dont' think that's gonna happen because Sutter wants SAMCRO to be able to win no matter what. Everybody is stupid except SAMCRO. They're impermeable to being fooled and they're always on time.

- You'd think SOA would hold off on the senseless murdering with minimal impact the episode after 20+ people die in a whorehouse but nope. Robocop shoots a fucking pawn shop owner in the face for like...no reason. The Juice kills the hotel guy. No reason.

THE AGE OF AQUARIUS.

- Episode 6. They're still cleaning up Diosa. How is there blood still everywhere? Wouldn't this place be considered some sort of hazard? There's literally blood covering the wall behind the bar when they show Nero talking to the Mayans. Nobody is wearing gloves.

- QUICK. SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT THEO'S CHARACTER'S NAME IS WITHOUT GOOGLING. NOBODY KNOWS. I DON'T. I'M STILL CALLING HIM THEO. AND HE HAD 3 LINES. TWO OF THEM INCLUDE THE WORD "SHIT".

- So you mean to tell me that Juice just couldn't figure out how to get to Mexico? Why couldn't Juice leave Charming and lay low? Charming isn't THAT big considering it's population is like 15k with a 90.8 murder rate. Is Charming that big? Is Charming some sort of veldt that is inescapable? Why did he need the Mayans to get into Mexico? You can essentially buy your way over there. You can actually walk over there in some places. People do it all the goddamn time. Also, he's wearing his cut everywhere. Why is Juice so stupid? I know he's not the smartest out there but nobody is that stupid. Literally NOBODY is that stupid unless it's written by Sutter. Juice thought he could sell "club intel"? What intel is so goddamn important that he could give? SAMCRO shoots people in broad daylight infront of police officers. What intel do you think could work in your favor, JUICE?

- Why do other gangs still go to SAMCRO for guns. That business is dry.

- SAMCRO, to prove they were racist, shows off a van full of dead black gang members to some Nazis for...I forget why. I don't care anymore.

- ^^^^^ That's fucking nuts

- Gemma "IF JUICE TELLS JAX WHAT HE KNOWS..." YO NERO. GOOD TIME FOR A FOLLOW UP QUESTION.

- 10 more episodes of this shit, man. That last episode? It's such background TV that I didn't even bother to pause it when I went to make a sandwich, I came back when they murdered all the black gang members and nothing in the story changed. No plot progression.

- That girl in the diner was Lea Michele, btw. So along with Courtney Love, Theo, Marilyn Manson, Jenna Jamesen, only ONE of them is remotely relevant in 2014. It sounds like the cast of "I'm a Celebrity. Get Me Out Of Here!"

10 MORE EPISODES OF THIS SHIT.

i'm out.

8 minutes ago it was "we're not stuck in 1950", "i hate these Nazi fucks" "let's fight"

why did they bring the Grim Bastards along to their Nazi meet to begin with?

why bring them along only to leave them a few blocks behind?

why leave them close enough behind to get spotted? especially since last time they met, cops were following them, so they should expect the nazis to be cautious and check

why would even a bunch of dumb hick nazi criminals even appreciate someone bringing a bunch of random dead black bodies around? get that shit out of here, before we all wind up back in prison.

the more you think about it, the dumber it gets
79950, Wait...is there really 10 episodes left?! How? Why? No!

79951, No. This season only has a total of 13 episodes.

I pay just enough attention to these long episodes to remember to fast forward through the commercials...

I'm starting to forget that this show was even semi-good in the early seasons.

Half the episode is dedicated to Gemma stressing over Jax killing her. When we the viewer know for a 100% fact that this will not happen. This is the opposite of building suspense.

After all the cat and mouse with Juice, we see his new mission, but NONE of the initial interaction between him and Jax? OK, and I'd be truly curious to hear from Sutter what Juice's motivation is for not telling Jax the truth.

The female cop liked jax enough from high school to not implicate him after her being shot and put into a coma... a fucking COMA, she's really just dusting herself off and moving on, and she's a cop, ok

Gemma is not only talking to herself but loudly to a baby in a small house with 4 other people in it, but hey, let's confess to the ultimate murder, and now little crazy eyed abel is the key to the whole story?

They have turned Nero into a bigger pussy then Juice

The only upside was Marks actually not being dumb finally, but we know how this is going to end, with Marks dead

I wish Sutter would cast a vote and let fans choose if they want to just fast forward to the final episode now

79966, yeah that whole sequence was like some weird brand of comedy
Posted by gumz, Wed Oct-22-14 02:06 PM
>Half the episode is dedicated to Gemma stressing over Jax
>killing her. When we the viewer know for a 100% fact that this
>will not happen. This is the opposite of building suspense.

seeing her bumbling around thinking she is going to get killed...and it was dragged out for so long. the only funny part was how nicely they leveraged Happy's terrible acting to push that through. that shit was so dumb though.

they've also done a terrible job of making us understanding why anyone who actually knows Jax would fear him. Gemma really has no reason to fear Jax. if he finds out the truth he's basically going to cry in her arms screaming "why?!".

79967, yeah, even that gets tedious
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Oct-22-14 05:29 PM
>Half the episode is dedicated to Gemma stressing over Jax
>killing her. When we the viewer know for a 100% fact that this

the only semi-suspense was if she was gonna kill Happy or Rat, or the little mexican in the process.

everyone loves Jax. he's amazing. my favorite are scenes like the one last week when characters get together without Jax and discuss how much they love Jax.

>Gemma is not only talking to herself but loudly to a baby in a
>small house with 4 other people in it, but hey, let's confess
>to the ultimate murder, and now little crazy eyed abel is the

>They have turned Nero into a bigger pussy then Juice

Nero Gemma scenes are the most unbearable at this point. I'm starting to hate any of Nero scenes, and it's worse than Juice because i never liked Juice to begin with, but Nero used to be a bright spot on the show. Now i wish they'd just go ahead and put him out of his misery.

>I wish Sutter would cast a vote and let fans choose if they
>want to just fast forward to the final episode now

at least let us vote on the montage song. this may have been the worst one yet.

he always does this silly shit. make sure they have zero redemption value, so we can contrast that with the guys.

he can't just be some opportunist extorting the lady, or even just a pimp. side mission targets always gotta be the worst of the worst imaginable. so much that he's roughing her up at the moment they pull up. and if that's not enough, it's always contrasted with the guys doing something nice.

i mean, it was really sweet of them to offer her a job at Diosa. It might be nice if they tell her why there's an opening tho.

79976, Fuck that fucking episode title, first of all. Fuck this show
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Thu Oct-23-14 12:03 PM
Second of all, fuck this show overall.

- That JT tag. Is that 11 years old or do they refresh it regularly? Or did they JUST tag up the rocks? Also, somebody remind me how JT died? I thought he laid his bike down in front of a semi. In the desert? There was no damn traffic. Did he fall asleep or some shit? It just kinda felt like a dumb ass reminder that SAMCRO is a hegemonic piece of shit legacy.

- Juice riding out and shooting at cops. Okay obviously there's something at hand here. This is Jax setting up something to get him captured. I understand that. But with how fucking slow and plodding this storyline has been, could they at least spend more time showing us exactly what the fuck they're doing? We deserve that right? No plotline has advanced enough to keep me interested at this point. You're gonna show me Juice shooting at cops (Charming has the worst fucking police on earth, btw) and him riding off to get captured and put him in a cell with a dude that's gonna look out for him and?

- The antisemitism is skrong in this episode. And it's not even like no pseudointellectual or even ideological antisemitism either. It's lazy. Hey look. Jewish school porno scene and Bobby is overlooking it. And he's a Jew. get it? He also handled the finances. That's hilarious right? Jew jokes! Look. That Jewish porno scene has NOTHING on Kelly Devine and Dana Dearmond getting fucked by James Deen until he cums on a piece of matzo and they eat it. That's the best Jewish themed porn scene ever. Fuck yall.

- Nero is getting on my fucking nerves. Why the fuck would he want Gemma to tag along with him? does he think her bullshit murderous motorcycle club problems will just disappear? Nope. They'll fuck around and have that farmland looking like Thunderdome. He's gonna fuck around and get fucked up messing around with that crazy white woman. Story of my goddamn life.

- By the time they came back to that pastor's wife and son, I totally forgot about the August Marks plotline that literally went nowhere. I forgot what happened until a friend told me: He wants to build projects to move coke through? I didn't even bother to really confirm it. I took it at face value because I don't think anybody else knows. So okay let's say this is true: This is the most convoluted way to move coke. C'mon Marks. There's other ways to move coke, man. This is Charming. You could throw molotovs into a synagogue and a black church and there would be NO investigation. Of course you can move coke. Just get a van and turn it into a coke truck and sell it in front of elementary schools. Also, isn't the population of Charming like 15k with a 90.8 crime rate? Who is gonna live in these projects? Couldn't they get on the waiting list for one of half dozen houses freed up after a senseless murder happening within it's walls?

- At this point I'm realizing that this is one of the super size episodes. My depression is super sized at this point as well.

- This fucking scene where they're offering the hooker a new place to hook in. It's so fucking written by Kurt Sutter. It looks like the beginning of a goddamn porno. They're about to have DP scene right in the alley. You see how close they're standing to her and breathing on her? Gross, man. Do you think Sutter is a cuckold? I bet he let's Katey Segal fuck a lot of guys. Anyway. It's nice that they recruited a new whore into their whorehouse...that just got shot the fuck up. I think they left that detail out in their pitch. Sure you won't get abused by your pimp but you run the risk of being one of dozens of people murdered in our whorehouse. Think about it.

- At this point, I decided to rewind to the beginning. I was distracted by the Jewish porn scene to listen to the dialogue. So lemme get this straight: So that cop decided not to talk because she went to high school with Jax and she loves this town and she wants it to say whole? Why in the fuck is this dickface a fuckin cop?!?! Why is this town so goddamn adamant on protecting SAMCRO? What do they give Charming aside from a shitton of bodies? Okay they built a candy shop (that got firebombed) and a whorehouse (dead bodies).

- Fucking Abel. Walking in like he owns the fucking place. You don't own shit. You little piece of little shit. Go smoke some meth you little dumbface bitch. SAY SOMETHING TO HAPPY WHEN HE SAYS HI TO YOU YOU LITTLE FUCK.

- Gemma speaks nothing of importance to everybody on the show. Yet says these major plot points out loud to nobody at all and babies. Fucking great.

- WHY IS FUCKING ABEL JUST SITTING THERE WITH HIS DEAD GODDAMN CHILDREN OF THE CORN EYES AND THAT BIG FUCKING NECK AND WEAK CHIN. IF THIS WAS ANCIENT GREECE, WE'D BE TOSSING HIM OFF OF A CLIFF BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY, THIS ONE HAS BEEN SHOOTING HEROIN INTO THE SOFT SPOT ON HIS HEAD SINCE HE'S BEEN TWO MONTHS OLD.

- This is when "Greensleeves" by Katey Segal plays and I'm kinda forced to just turn the goddamn sound off.

- Good to see Matthew from Six Feet under still working security btw. And he delivered SAMCRO a free tablet. Score.

- I like how they picked Bobby to be the one to show us how ruthless and evil Marks is. They've already had Lin murder a whorehouse full of unarmed people and I still rooted for Lin to win because Jax and SAMCRO are the fuckin worst. The Mayans could cut Abel in half and I'd still be rooting for The Mayans. August Marks could cut the eyes out of every child in Charming and I'd be like "Man I really hope Jax doesn't kill him". I don't fuckin like Bobby anymore either. He's always been the voice of reason and he was killing people a few episodes ago too. Fuck him. Fuck SAMCRO. I hope August marks wins but of course he won't because SAMCRO always wins. I want Lin to win but NOPE. SAMCRO has to win. I bet they're gonna spend a few episodes trying to give us "Jax's retribution" or some shit and I won't give a cripple crap a crutch how his story ends.

- Btw, that was a really really really tiny Asian hooker.

i'm out.

which is funny because Jax wants Lin dead because Gemma told him that Lin had Tara killed...so Jax sends Juice on a suicide mission in jail to kill Lin...Juice agrees because he wants back into the club....DESPITE the fact that he knows the truth and could just tell Jax that Lin had nothing to do with it. WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS?!

i guess he doesn't tell Jax because he knows she'll always take Gemma's side, and can't go tot he cops because he's the one who killed sherrif Dice Raw

Maybe he'll offer to sell Lin Samcro intel in exchange for safe passage into China

Clay and Gemma had him killed, he hit a truck or something. A plot no one cared about even though they dangled in our faces like we did for 3 seasons like it was the whole point of the show. Jax found out then conveniently didn't factor that in when believing his mom saying the Chinese killed Tara. So Jax knew his mom offed his dad, and had ongoing beef with his wife, but believes her 100%. Wonder if she drowns Abel in the bathtub before he blows up her spot. Also, itt looks like the JT plot will be making a re-appearance next week.

the Abel hate is hilarious and i wanna be like "but he's a kid!", but i really hate Abel too at this point...it's a sad reality when you're ok with a child gettin murked on a show....

i hope Marks and Lin win too because in any sane world, they would, but this world of Sutter's is something different....i'm just wandering when SAMCRO is gonna go brokeback, admit they can't quit each other and have that all male orgy (oh wait, we can't leave out gemma!) the show has been leading to since the beginning...

and the craziest part of this whole season is that these boys have been fuck ups barely figuring their way outta one situation to the next the WHOLE series and NOW they act like they know how to outsmart the real big bads in their area...this whole season is like bad fan fiction with them trying to play everyone who ever helped them....

every week the new episode ends, and I think, damn this is the worst episode ever.

How many times can the sons get ambushed by machine gun fire and never get hit... not a shotgun or something, a fucking machine gun!!

This show is about 1 thing for me going forward (1 thing I know won't happen) I want to see the SOA LOSE. I don't even care about Gemma anymore, and the who killed Tara shit. I want Jax to die, Jax is way worse to me then Clay ever was. I also hate Charlie Hunnam now as an actor, the accent man, it should be improving, not getting worse! I'd like to ask Sutter, are we supposed to be rooting for SOA right now? Why wouldn't I want Marks to win, Marks has stayed true to his word all along and been fucked over for no reason. Jax is out here killing good, innocent characters all year, fuck him. The foreshadowing all along has been doing stuff like this would "kill the club". Let it kill the club Sutter and get some sort of redemption for these last few dreadful seasons. As hard as it is to believe, this show was once good.

The Grim Bastards tipped off the chinese. If not the main guy, it was Theo. It's still idiotic that the Sons don't think it's even a little bit of a strange coincidence that the Pastor they were sent to kill on accident just happens to be the guy that August Marks needed.

Sutter originally tries to make this JT thing the whole point of the series. Then conveniently made it seem like it doesn't matter, but now if Jax can think it could have been a suicide, we can retroactively go back and know why Jax can believe Gemma when she said the chinese killed Tara?

what?

80018, Fuck this season in it's cold plotless soul (Episode who gives a shit)
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Thu Oct-30-14 08:34 AM
- "I love you brother. I love you Jax. Let's touch dicks together."

- Okay so I'm STILL not understanding how these black niner dudes is just so down to work with SAMCRO. Dude risks getting killed by the Blackwater nigga from Six Feet Under and he's still all "Iight man. Yall have such a great track record for non-blowback ass criminal enterprises. The odds are in my favor." *hug. Sorry bout Bobby*

- As much as I loved that scene between Blackwater and One Eyed Bobby, why should I give a shit about Bobby? He was supposed to be the one that made sense and kept Jax on track and then he's suddenly down with his harebrained revenge schemes. Should I seriously give a shit that Bobby loses another eye? Or a hand? Or a goddamn leg? Shave his hair?

- I swear they tucked that scene in just to cast Spooge's girl from Breaking Bad.

- Then Courtney Love dispensing advice on mental stability. Like...I don't know if sutter was trying to elicit some sort of response from me over that and he at least achieved that. Why. Why. Why. Why. Why should I give a shit that Abel is slapping kids with lunch boxes? Why is Gemma pretending like that's not a problem? She doesn't deserve my fucking sympathy and I've been waiting for 8 episodes for somebody to find out about her killing Tara. Why the fuck are we talking about Abel?!

- So they got Juice locked up and he says "I'm ready to talk". He tells them about Tara and Roosevelt's murder. They're quick with the "Nope. Chinese killed the cop and that woman. We closed that case based on absolutely nothing but the word of a renegade gun running biker gang with a reputation for murdering". Also: Why was ol girl like "Unser you're a good cop"? He's never really demonstrated any sort of goddamn good policework this whole show. He's really good at smoking that cancer out his body, however.

- They gotta stop letting this fucking Abel kid talk and Gemma goddamn expressed more justifiable emotion over the deaths of some damn birds than anything else this whole fucking season. She's talking to babies, herself, and crying about birds and being bitchy at the lead singer of Hole. Why.

- Honestly, I like the Jury scene. But it still rings hollow as shit because they're trying to act like this is the tipping point of him destroying the club. He's been doing that for the whole season though. Him shooting Jury in the face means shit to me really. We've seen like 60 people die this season alone. A van full of dead black people. A whorehouse full of victims. A dead black preacher threesome. Dead black gangsters in a goddamn warehouse. Christ. So many dead black people. Sutter killing more niggas than the police.

- I can give a shit about Bobby, man. He losing all types of fucking bodyparts but the plot ain't progressed. To show you how much it ain't progress: These niggas ended the episode with another Box O' Bobby with a series of very blank and wooden expressionless faces JUST like last episode except they're on a roof now. If they play their cards right, SAMCRO will get Bobby back piece by piece and they'll be able to put him together like an IVAR shelving system from Ikea.

- Yo I had to add this in. I thought it was hilarious how Jax outright said "I underestimated August marks". Christ, dude. That's like a fucking theme with this guy. Didn't he underestimate the Irish? And Pope? And numerous other antagonists? How did he underestimate Marks? He's shown to be pretty fucking effective throughout his whole time on the show. AND DIDN'T MARKS SAY HE WOULD KILL ANY SON WITH NO HESITATION? He said that to Jax's face. Did Jax forget that? Did he think he was handling some bagger at the Stop N Shop? Dude. He said "POPE WAS THE SMARTEST. I'M THE MOST RUTHLESS. GET IN MY WAY AND I'LL KILL YALL WITH NO HESITATION". WAS HE SUPPOSED TO BE CLEARER, JACKSON? WOULD YOU LIKE HIM TO SEND YOU A MESSAGE THROUGH THAT TABLET HE GAVE YOU LAST WEEK?

- "He's smarter than me" We fucking know Jax. You're stupid as fuck.

- Last night I was kinda drunk because I had wine with dinner and I was watching porn clips for some reason while watching this shit. So I mighta missed something. I definitely didn't miss Carmelo Anthony playing a goddamn mob enforcer in what looks to be the same damn closet they had Juice and Nero in a couple of episodes ago.

- My girlfriend no longer finds Jax fuckable. Which I think sums up everything about this season of Sons of Anarchy.

i'm out.

80029, were we supposed to feel bad for Bobby?
Posted by Calico, Wed Nov-05-14 08:52 AM
i can't fathom why.....

LOL at trying to make the audience feel that Marks is the big bad wolf causing all these problems...

can't believe i watched most of that episode...it was hilariously bad, but i wasn't laughing....it was more "i can't believe there are people who REALLY think this is great tv, and they can vote"

the police car thing was pretty bad, but the weirdest scene was probably the one with the guard watching juice stick something up his cornhole...BUT...wasn't that the same instrument juice pulled from under his mattress in the end??

and WHEN did Jax start treating Wendy like she's important to him at all?? that kiss on the cheek threw me...

never thought i'd say this, but i miss Clay

...and how protected can that cabin really be??

...i really don't see how anyone in the club is still alive considering the way they've burned bridges with some seriously powerful people...
80030, lol at the Vote part, I swear the same exact thought went through my head
Posted by rjc27, Wed Nov-05-14 09:04 AM

>LOL at trying to make the audience feel that Marks is the big
>bad wolf causing all these problems...

I want Marks to win... Sutter has made Jax the worst person possible, and now he adds snitch to his resume, great

As soon as Bobby's jaw was broken u knew he was dead... what was the other option? Spend the last 4 ep's with his mouth wired shut? Sutter even ruins "surprise" deaths

>can't believe i watched most of that episode...it was
>hilariously bad, but i wasn't laughing....it was more "i can't
>believe there are people who REALLY think this is great tv,

same thought went through my head, like people who think this is great tv, and lots of them exist, are just stupid people, and should not be allowed to vote

>the police car thing was pretty bad, but the weirdest scene
>was probably the one with the guard watching juice stick
>something up his cornhole...BUT...wasn't that the same

Posted by Calico, Wed Nov-05-14 10:06 AM
..he clearly the better man...

oh, and i liked how insane gemma is...she hates ALL cops naturally, but acting like she has contempt for corrupt cops, when her best friend is a corrupt cop that helped them out for years was really bad writing...plus whatever the heck ninja move she did to the cop that made NO sense in context...she slaps Gemma and isn't prepared for gemma to strike back?? i LOVED her calling gemma trailer trash though, cause that's really all she is...

and the scene where she asked Rat if he ws gonna stare at her boobs or speak, we ALL know he ain't checkin for all that based off who he's wit so it was hard NOT to laugh....

things keep popping into my head...like...how many times were they gonna dig up that body, and have THE SAME revulsion scene each time?? and how does marks' people NOT notice three or more whiteboys riding loud motorcycles onto a property they own multiple times??

80032, what did Juice do with that shank anyway
Posted by gumz, Wed Nov-05-14 09:54 AM
not when he stuck it up his ass but when he was in his cell, and they gave him something else in a bag. he poured some sorta powder into the handle of the blade. what was that about?

and why couldn't they give him the blade that same way instead of showing him shove it up his ass?

80033, I can't think of a character whose death would bother me at all
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Nov-05-14 06:58 PM
80034, I'd love someone to give me 1 good reason why Marks killed the wrong person

Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Nov-05-14 07:06 PM
"in front of your friend" that might be the most backwards logic i've ever seen. Like an outlaw biker who didn't love her would turn that shit down.

Did we really need another scene of Abel seeing Gemma apologizing to a dead person. They really are determined to ram this creepy kid down out throats at every turn.

No music in this episode. What an artist you are, Kurt.

There was some stuff in this episode i liked. It's just not as fun to talk about.

I like how there are 4 episodes left so lets create 2 love stories. We all know they arent going anywhere and are totally unnecessary but gotta gill that 90 minutes of tv time.
80047, I'm too fucking drained and flabbergasted to even recap right now.

Maybe later. But it's crazy how the only way that Sutter can advance the plot even a bit is by killing a major character.

80052, WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH?!
Posted by RobOne4, Wed Nov-12-14 02:54 AM
I really was trying to stay away from giving a rant about the entire episode and all of its shitty glory. That is PI's thing. But this was probably the most insane hour and a half of television I have ever seen.

That opening montage pretty much set the bar for the show. Sex montage. First Im like okay we get to see Jax's ass again. Then Gemma spacing out while Nero hits it doggystyle. Im like okay. Then Chibbs if I remember correctly. Then we get some tranny love. Then Marilyn Manson was getting some prison booty. But I was so caught up in how insane this montage was and of course tweeting about this shit that I missed it was Juice that Marilyn Manson was fucking!!!!! SON! Then some of the lower members get pussy in the opening montage.

the joke about getting gunned down by Chinese gangsters. Yes hilarious. I could see Sutter patting himself on the back after writing that one.

Juice's care package.

Stupid face is cutting himself. I swear that kid has the most punchable face on TV right now. He is fucking awful.

I still feel some kind of way about Courtney I did drugs while pregnant Love is the voice of reason at Abel's school.

Man i gotta be honest I was getting lost in some of the story because well there is so much shit going on. Instead of using the final season and final episodes of the final season to wrap shit up. Sutter is starting new shit. Frankly I could care less any more.

Gemma asking Nero why he is still there. Shit I know we all asked that question about 100 times already.

Tig and the tranny with the deep emotional talk man that was painful to watch.

Then Abel dropping the bomb at the end. WOOOOOOOOW fucking hilarious. I hope my prediction of him sitting at the head of the table at the end of the last episode comes true.

opening montage was pretty funny

old school SOA set up shit with the nazi's and Mark's guys

Abel setting up granny

Unser finally got to do something. he might even get some out of this

Juice brading Tully's hair while he read him poetry was fucking hilarious.

but GOOD GOD, that last 15 minutes were unbearable, the ridiculous chibs/cop story, i started forwarding through Tig and Tranny Boyd.
I doubt even the dumbest viewer didn't know non-acting little Abel was gonna drop dime at the end, so the whole build up was just excruciatingly long. i'm glad they finally got it out of the way though

The problem with these slow moments is i care about absolutely no one

i just didn't care

once venus said his piece, i already knew the gist of what tig was gonna say, so it was just like, ok next. i also forwarded through all of Gemma Nero. it would probably be easier to sit through these scenes if every episode wasn't director's cut length.

They should have a spin-off show where he says "eff it" to all the meth and death-dealing and goes to work with at-risk inner city youth.

Every once in a while, someone from his past turns up to cause trouble, but he and his new community stand shoulder-to-shoulder to repel the Swastika-inked invaders.

Then they build a children's playground and smile at each other.

80084, Yeah, and i also thought it's kind of weird that Jax is cool with it
Posted by Mynoriti, Fri Nov-14-14 09:50 PM
it's at least implied that he knows what's going down. Not that he should give a fuck about Juice, but isn't it a bad look when you even one of your former (sit at the table) members is some nazi's bitchboy?

Plus wasn't killing Lin supposed to be his way of buying his way back into the club? Dude's gonna kill Lin, be the one to confirm to Jax about Gemma, but in the end they're gonna be like "sorry dude, eww"

80085, Yeah it basically makes the Sons look like bitches
Posted by gumz, Sat Nov-15-14 08:07 AM
And makes his deal with the club null and void. What's the point of being down with the if they let you get raped. Juice needs to just start killing everyone in there or dime them all out....fuck that shit
80086, someone please tell me a worst episode than this one
Posted by Playa_Politician, Sat Nov-15-14 05:39 PM
think i was 40 minutes in and the plot had not moved forward.

so abel finally snitched? nice, what was the point of him cutting himself again? why hasn't Gemma off'd him yet? whenever i see this kid on the screen it lets me know i have time to make a sandwich because the story is going nowhere.

it's like they have a bunch of good actors and some with potential, yet the writing keeps getting worse and dragging this show down.

was that tech 9?
80087, The sex montage could have been the most ridiculous SOA scene ever.
Posted by phenompyrus, Sun Nov-16-14 09:37 AM
It was amazingly bad. Every main character, even Happy and poor Juice, were getting some, AT THE SAME TIME. Fucking ridiculous. This show, I am so happy it is coming to the end, I don't even look, forward to it anymore, just want to get it over with. If Abel is sitting or standing symbolically at the head of the table at the end of the series, it will become one of the best endings all time, but not in a good way.
80088, i felt for jax and nero this ep.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Wed Nov-19-14 01:10 AM
that was a good fuckin episode.
80089, probably the best overall this season
Posted by Calico, Wed Nov-19-14 08:05 AM
...and yeah, i felt a lil bad for Jax, Juice and Nero....the pain and trasion each character had to go through this ep was a nice departure from the ramped up violence...

"Zen" juice with the cops was probably the worst and funniest scene...it was so bad it was good...same with Abel's last scene with Gemma

all that said, this shoulda happened in the 3rd episode this season, but they had a season to fill so i understand...
80090, I don't understand.

Breaking Bad had 8 episodes to reveal like 3-4 different things and they started out in the first ep of season 5B.

I think this reveals that Sutter might not be a talented dude or he just seems painted in the corner due to repetitiveness.

Posted by gumz, Wed Nov-19-14 05:03 PM
i probably would have agreed with you guys on this being a good one if it hadn't all been dragged out for so damn long...but all i could see was all the comedy.

-Juice's weirdo yogi talk with Unzer and the sheriff had me dying "all i am is anyone's asshole in here"
-Abel's coldhearted "Goodbye Grandma" moment was funny as hell
-Jax' dukes of hazzards like chase scene
-Everybody's "oh shit" faces throughout the whole ep
-The way everyone seemingly goes along with what anyone says at any damn time:

Ex. 1: Hey Unzer...I know I always lie to you and you're pissed off at me keeping secrets but you can tell by my face that i'm dead serious this time so do me this one last favor? ....ok

Ex. 2: Put out an APB on Jax for no reason other than me telling you to do...ok

What da? I will say i'm not honestly curious to see how it all ends. Prior to this ep I was just looking forward to it ending but now I actually want to see how they do it. I like how Nero suggested Jax make right on Tara's wish. He really does need to die after all this though.

I mean that scene on the phone wasnt even that well done, Sutter decision to not let us hear Jax made me think the conversation was over and Nero was just faking it to try and get something out of Gemma. I am sure that was not what they were going for. And then Theo Rossi jerking himself off at Fox News for his prison interrogation scene....calm down buddy

"Hey get out of that Dodge Challenger before i shoot you, mate!"

"No... not my car!!!"

Plenty of logo shots, and interior shots as the sleek Dodge Challnger handles beautifully around the winding streets of San Gabriel Valley.. I mean Northern California....

Cops try their best but are no match for the Dodge Challenger...

Arrives safely at the sanctuary.

80116, That last episode was one of the best of the series.
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Fri Nov-21-14 02:06 PM
Im kinda mad because the two episodes prior to that, I didn't hit yall with a recap (I still have my notes) and this week I'm all like "Man this shit was good"

Jazzy car chase aside, that is.

I have no idea why they didn't do that in the beginning of the season. Because that car chase was so fucking out of place considering the really silent and tense few scenes. Also, as you notice there has been some movement of a lot of plotlines while Sutter is OBVIOUSLY setting us up for the last two episodes.

What was the point of telling Juice that it'll be quick or whatever?

Anyway. Episode was masterful. But as we know Sutter just couldn't help but do some silly shit.

i'm out.

yall was not lying about Abel. Holy shit. I guess since he's a meth baby suffering from PTSD and a dead non-biological mommy, and a batshit insane gma, he should have dead eyes and no emotion

these episodes and plot lines (or lack there of) prove Stutter made all the wrong choices since season 4. I just don't give a shit about anyone.

80122, "Faith And Despondency" Episode 10?? I can't remember.
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Tue Dec-02-14 10:56 AM
I actually have some notes from episode 9 but I can't find em.

- The torrents I use include the "Previously On" headers and I think at this point they could have used disconnected clips from previous episodes of other shows and it would have made the same amount of sense.

- Since SOA is in a severe shortage of sex scenes, the beginning of this episode starts out with everybodyfucking. Everybody. Just about every character on the show except Unser. Everybody fucks. Even Juice gets some. It's prison rape but still. Sutter thought it was cool to throw in there. At this point I typed out "The fuck am I watching man"

- Again, some character (I think this was Greensleeves old whore) tells Jax that he's a decent guy. Everybody is really quick to tell Jax how decent they are. Jax really hasn't demonstrated his decency in like 2 seasons. I DON'T KNOW YOU A LOT BUT I CAN TELL IN YOUR EYES THAT YOU'RE A GOOD GUY. why.

- It's crazy how Courtney Love is far from the first thing that annoys me about this show.

- Why IS Manson fucking Juice in the butt anyway? Juice is a honeypot to get closer to Lin in prison but I'm pretty sure they coulda did something else to get him close to Lin. Sutter just wanted to film prison rape.

- One of Blackwater nigga's goons looks like Tech N9ne.

- When that dude at the white supremacist picnic was talking shit about Tig's girl I KNEW he was gonna shoot him. Bcause this show is really fucking horrible and I can predict just about every character's action like 15 seconds before they do it. He shot him in the DICK. IN THE DICK. He shot a bigot in the dick. That BIGOT shot another BIGOT in the dick. It's crazy how people whimper about the myth of "black on black" crime and go home on Tuesdays to cheer for SAMCRO while they kill other white people.

- A decent part was Unser getting his cop on and shooting that dude in the hospital. But after Unser shoots the dude, SAMCRO shows up to the hospital to get the rundown from Unser so that the dumb ass audience can understand what's been going on. It's crazy how much expository speaking goes on in this show. Also, it's crazy how SAMCRO could just talk to the former police chief in front of other cops and there not be one of those cops going "I don't like how this murderous gun running biker gang is so cozy with our former police chief". They talk out in the open. It's weird, man.

- Manson sends Juice a book of Emily Bronte poetry, cocaine and some Vaseline.

- As an aside: It's so weird how this show gives us a well rounded transgender character that isn't rife with stereotypes. That's weird. It's not the ONLY trangender character on TV depicted so honestly but seeing that it's SOA? THat's fucking weird.

- I'm still blown by the Juice storyline btw. I don't know if I mentioned it before but it's hilarious how Juice just couldn't figure out how to get to fucking Mexico without consulting some Mexicans. Consulting the WRONG Mexicans, btw. There hasn't been one non-gang affiliated Latino person in this fuckin show. I can get to Mexico from here without a goddamn GPS. Juice couldn't do it and he lives in a state bordering the fuckin country.

- I'm still not sure how Blackwater nigga was able to get dropped on. They didn't even check the basement. They got fooled into going to that damn RV. All of it. They're dumb as fuck. White supremacists came from BEHIND the house. You mean to tell me you cleared the house...yet you didn't look behind the house? Now we're treated to the image of white supremacists and racist biker gangs shooting black men. Congrats. Your audience is proxy cheering for Neo Nazis or whatever the fuck. This is social commentary via Sutter. But whatever, that was a horrible makeup job with the eyeball hanging out like a fucking pocket turned inside out.

- CPS is called in the 7th fucking season of SOA.

- Chibs and Althea. These scenes are brutal. I'd rather take poppers and watch my loved ones get beheaded. They slap fucked as if we needed more fuckin in this episode. I realize that this Chibs and Althea plot sucks because they're pretending like they've been together for a really long time or some shit. That's what's I'm realizing. I could see if this went on for a season or so but nope. It kinda came outta nowhere. Not even kinda. It came out of nowhere. "Let's have one of the SAMCRO dudes fuck the female police chief. Who has never had a decent storyline? Chibbs? Fuck it. Let's do it."

- Kim Coates and Walter Goggins are delivering these shit lines so well. God bless these brilliant talents.

- Abel snitches finally and there's a

i'm out.

After last week's EP, I thought maybe for once they finally got it together
WRONG!!
Big bad ass (ha ha) Juice getting shanked was a long them coming
Unser and his old dumb ass getting killed wasn't sad...
I was happy for the old man..not for the long term cancer or loneliness...he's finally free from being Samcro's and Gemma's sucker!!
Speaking of suckers...Jax killing Gemma...where was the torture? Where was the mom/son fight scene?
How about having a real true GANG bang?
I've been waiting to see that old trick die and I get a stroll in the garden and a bullet to the back of the head.
This gets my award for wackest villlan killing of all time!!

one more EP...I think air teller is gonna commit suicide or ride off into the sun after he finally "makes things right" with everyone after many failed attempts to do so.

But seriously 2 fucking hours? The first hour was nonsense. Then Juice getting a train ran on him. Man I swear Sutter can sneak a rape scene into anything. Must be like a fun game he plays at home. Okay give me a plot and premise I bet I can throw a rape scene into it that makes sense.

Juice's death. Another 'who cares because he lived 3 seasons too long scene'.

Jax Gemma was well done, but like mentioned above, it's been dragged on so long, it's pretty anti-climactic.

I've been holding off from posting until the season is over but fuck me man I needed to vent.

Had I known halfway through Season 3 this show would become what it is, I would've jumped ship a long time ago.

Sad that this show peaked in it's second season and season four was the last time it was ever good.

These over long episodes are killing me. I would've been ecstatic for extended episodes in the show's early years, now I wish this shit was half an hour.

I mean shit we have Malcolm Jamal Warner as biker. Really?

And with the amount of bodies the Sons drop a episode, the National Guard would've been called in a long ass time ago. No way a small ass town with a small population drops 60-80 bodies a week and get away with it.

So many episodes this season has been spinning wheels till these last four episodes and even then, this hasn't been satisfying so far.

Jax hasn't been likable since Season 5, so if he dies next week, it'll be hard for me to give a shit.

Only positive thing I can say is Drea still has a really good body even if her face has aged badly.
80165, yes to all this even up to the Drea part...

80189, It felt like an old school finale where old characters return for one scene
Posted by gumz, Wed Dec-10-14 07:41 AM
only these guys came back to get shot in the face. They killed someone every other scene. Each time I busted out laughing.

Very boring finale. This season could actually be ok if they cut out all the side missions and focused on the actual plot...but it'd be about 2hrs long.

Anyway, as much as I grew to hate the show I'll miss watching it and talking shit about it. I can't believe I watched it for 7 years straight...that's mind boggling. I kinda wish they did a montage of the series at the end like The Shield. They probably did one during the after show but I couldn't watch that bore fest...Sutter turns every question into a monologue. It's no wonder every episode was so damn long.

It's been fun folks. I'll miss this thread.
80190, yeah, this.

i enjoy literary devices as much as the next guy that took freshman english, but fuck

the foreshadowing is damn near insulting imo

i got this
the truck won
dad's blue bike
the homeless angel (which is still on wtf status for me)
we all knew the ending as soon as jemma'a trucker came on screen

and the symbolism? lord-

the homeless angel's bread and wine
the pre-splat jesus christ pose
the crows eating the bread, as the blood of the douche christ enters stage left (as if that symbolically cleanses the sins of samcro? please. they all deserve lethal injections)

and seriously- how did dead peg bundy get TWO scenes this episode? come on, kurt

u coulda at least showed dead unser too, but fuck him i guess

regardless

i've thoroughly enjoyed loving and hating this show and i'm glad it's over

eat a dick kurt sutter u self-important sanctimonious bloviating prick, u

for real

nobody serves up this level of craptastic like u bro, way to go

80194, I hated to love this show and loved to hate it too. Now for the finale:
Posted by phenompyrus, Wed Dec-10-14 09:08 AM
What I liked:

Them letting the Grim Bastard patch in. It was predictable, but great.

Nero not dying.

Vic Mackey being the one to kill Jax Teller.

^Imagine if that actually was Mackey though... Awesome.

Jax dying on his own terms.

The kids getting away.

What I didn't like:

The predictability of everything... If Gemma died last week, there was only one place to go this week.

Jax dying on his own terms... It was foreshadowed for episodes now, and this whole episode had the writing on the wall.

That CGI at the end? Yikes. That's wheelchair behind a car bad. Oh wait, that was also this show. SyFy movie bad then.

Kurt Sutter really likes himself doesn't he? Wow, that Anarchy Afterword was aping of AMC's Talking Dead and Talking Bad, made worse by the creator sitting there and thinking that he was God's gift to writing. Difference being, will this be one of the memorable shows in the end? It was 2, maybe 3, seasons too long, and this past season might as well have had zombies climb out of the ground and bodies rain from the sky.

*sigh* The kids getting away is great, but if the show continued, Sutter would have Abel searching for the true meaning of that ring he has, and turning to a life of crime because of it.

Can you explain the forced symbolism of the homeless woman throughout the show? I get it, but c'mon, ain't that about a bitch?
80195, of course Sutter wrote that final montage trash ass song
Posted by rjc27, Wed Dec-10-14 09:57 AM
Was not surprised to read that after... those lyrics making no sense were distracting the shit out of me...

so Jax is Jesus because he died sacrificing for the club and his kids? ok

I kind of like how Jax went out murking dudes in broad day tho

I don't like how easy Jax gave in though when he has 2 little kids man, just abandoning his kids like that is weak, I don't give a fuck how deep he was

Vic Mackey in last week, fine, having him kill Jax is so Sutter, why take away from the moment? just wack

With all that being said, the episode as a whole didn't bother me... This season was terrible... the episode Juice told him the truth was the only really good ep. The finale to me was the second best one.

but fuck sutter tho

smart on his part. I think I heard it on some behind the scenes shit with the voices from Animaniacs. they said they wrote all kinds of songs and got paid two ways when the episodes aired. So they started writing more and more songs. Sutter is cashing in on this trash,
80198, everyone trying to out snark each other for this last ep huh?
Posted by Calico, Wed Dec-10-14 10:09 AM
...it was wack, but since the only two full eps i've seen this season are the last ones, i've been enjoying the end of the ride... the talk show looks like it was full of reasons to clown, but my soul can't go through that....

80204, about what i expected
Posted by Mynoriti, Wed Dec-10-14 06:22 PM
i knew it would end on some "Hey look, it's just like JT!"

the homeless girl/jesus stuff was pretty laughable

Nero and Jax was a good scene. maybe the only scene i really liked.

why would TO even want to be in SAMCRO? i still don't really get that

I was hoping maybe Chucky would cut Jax's breaks to avenge Gemma, and he'd crash on the way to see Claudette, and become a vegetable, and the guys would have to spend the rest of the episode trying to pick up the pieces.

anyway, it was nice of the highway patrol officer to wait for jax to finish his conversation.

it was tedious like most of this season, but i didn't hate it. watching Sutter talk is making me hate it though. I need to turn this shit off.

hope to see y'all in 2 years when Kurt drops the prequel
80205, yeah i don't get this either...is it really a come up for him?

Posted by Playa_Politician, Thu Dec-11-14 12:46 AM
my crew is OK, yet the DA knows we kilt them folks, that was an "off the record confession"

that courthouse shit had me throwing my hands up. dude shot at least six times. at the entrance of any courthouse there's probably 6-7 armed cops checking folks. all he had to do was run to the fence and hop over, then he started walking to his bike.

the shit that bugs me the most and i can't figure out why it happened.... when the DA went to see the retired crooked cop's body at the bakery, what the hell was charming PD doing there? isn't that supposed to be in Stockton?
80212, This sums up the whole series for me: Excuse grammar and all that
Posted by JiggysMyDayJob, Wed Dec-10-14 10:48 PM
Chuckie (Audience): "What's going on Nero(Kurt Sutter) Is Gemma(The series) ok? I'm not an idiot, I know something bad happened."
Nero: "I know you're not an idiot Chuckie. I don't know what happened and that's the truth." I'm going to go poke around here, maybe someone has left him a message(a writers room). "
Chuckie: "Hey. He doesn't have a phone (writers' room) in there."
Nero: "I'll figure it out."

When he goes in the room, it's like he sees the whole damn plot of the series fucked up. Like wow, Kurt just keeps going, this shit has been a fap fest for him. On another note, I do want to applaud Mr. Sutter for using some of my favorite pornstars over the year (shout out for casting Kelly Shibari in a non-speaking role).

So we basically get a rehash of every plot line in Sons of Anarchy, all in one episode, with one simple twist. Now they've created Jimmy O, and let in a Negro, how progressive of you Kurt.

I really wanted the scene with Jax and Nero to be about him and his ego, but it just fell flat. I really feel bad for Jimmy Smitts, he's the only one to bring depth to this otherwise stale show.

But speaking of that scene, it was pretty blatant that projection of "Well with the end I wanted to show JT's dream. It was finally achieved through his son, his legacy changed for the good. So we have Jax as JT, Wendy as Gemma and Nero as Unser. You know, what JT wanted, what I wanted for the fans..." Fap, fap, fap.

Btw, the kid that plays Thomas... He looks touched. Him and methface Able are awful.

At least that's my idea of what Sutter was thinking writing this trash ass ending.

Seriously, this show hasn't been entertaining since the 4th season when Sutter hit the sweet spot of silly action and decent storytelling. If I'm stretching it; It hasn't been good since Ron Pearlman was on. At least the story had a trajectory.

But back to the show, so now Jax walks in broad daylight and just caps Robocop with no police in tow. Well, I guess that's what happens with Jaxus, (yeah we got the whole Jesus Marytr thing asshole)who by the way can shoot a man outside a courthouse and not get shot down by 50 Sheriffs.

The last scene with the club was hot garbage and the wink wink with Flag above the bikes and the van? FOH.

I ain't going to spoil how Jaxsus Christ goes out, not because I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but it was whack. I guess even on tv white cops hesitate to shoot a white man with a weapon.

Last note, ever wonder if CCH Pounder and Delroy Lindo had a kid, would he be in the NBA? That's what I had in my head every time she appeared.

FUCK A MOUNTAGE!

Oh, and Charlie? You fucked up by not taking 50shades after this fuckfest, at least try and move up in the industry. Who else saw Frankie Go BooM!

I wish I did what guru0509 did and jumped ship a few episodes into Season 3.

As stated before only good shit was the Jax, Nero and Chuckie scene.

Fuck this shit.

Question. Why did he pop RoboCop?

And who the fuck is the homeless angel that's been shoved down our throats for the whole series?

Cotdamn this shit was too long. 2 hours and more than half of those scenes could've been cut to make a decent hour finale.

80223, Honestly, anything I say now would be repeating myself (RECAP)
Posted by PlanetInfinite, Fri Dec-12-14 04:20 PM
- The beginning tried really hard to establish that Jax was gonna start setting things up for his departure but watching him just stare off somberly at some bikes and some papers and fire and paper in the fire and some file cabinets was just fucking boring, man. Sutter loves montages because they're really easy to exploit for emotional gain and you really don't have to write dialogue for it. Just show Jax looking at papers that EXPLICITLY SAY WHAT THEY ARE. The only people that loved that part are those types that would LOVE Sons of Anarchy. Obviously they're idiots. Let's not forget that the last episode should have ended with Jax shooting his mother in the goddamn head. Instead they ended the episode with a POST MOTHER KILLING MONTAGE or whatever and Jax fucking because apparently shooting your mother makes you horny. Honestly de Matteo makes me horny as fuck too but nothing would be able to make me see past me shooting my mother in the back of her goddamn head.

- I think there should be some sort of fuckin moratorium on "visiting the gravesite" scenes, speaking of.

- Of course it took killing the half black dude but hey we finally gotta black man patched into SAMCRO. Obama changed everything, man.

- That chase was stupid. More 2000's era nu-metal bullshit music. I don't even know what that fight was for. After he shot them and drove off I wasn't even 100% sure who that was. Was he trying to kill them? Cause a chase? What?

- Okay so I completely forgot what the Irish are still around for. I honestly forgot. This is a problem that this show has. Kurt Sutter isn't talented so he didn't understand that there are several storylines that he could have tied up during the extra 30 minutes or whatever per episode that FX gave him to complete this stupid ass series. So he decides to tie it up in the last episode. Meanwhile I don't give a shit. I thought the Irish were done for last season. Kurt kept them around because I guess Billy Brown has a better show to star in and Lin's gang was just a big ol dumb plot device to rape Juice or whatever. This is a fatal flaw in his story telling. Remember the school shooting? What a shitty writer, man. That school shooting did nothing of any emotional resonance. It went from "School shooting" to "Oh shit SAMCRO is gonna get in trouble" but...there was a school shooting, man. But Sutter doesn't know how to do emotional resonance. He replaces it with scenes of dudes getting shot in the dick and clumsy ass racial jokes.

- That part where Chibs and Jax are on the roof (again) I swear they were gonna touch dicks. It would be a more natural progression than anything that happened this entire season. So they shoot the Irish dudes or whoever the fuck that was on the roof in open air. But you know what? of course they would. They're in a city with a murder rate twice the amount of the Honduras and the police force are all the equivalent of the dude that is a week from retirement. The cops know this is the series finale.

- I don't know what Jax and Nero talked about. Don't ask me what it was about. Don't tell me. You wouldn't believe how much I didn't care about this episode by this point. There coulda been some IASIP "Diaper Time" interlude and I would been like "Oh okay this is gonna be good".

- So here's the thing that kills me. Jax claims that Charming will be safe and quiet because he's dead. That sounds noble but how in the fuck am I supposed to believe that. How is CCH supposed to believe this? She's NOT supposed to believe this because Jax walks the fuck out of her office to start shooting the shit out of people. He shoots Murphy in the goddamn face in his fucking deli and runs off after ruining those bagels. Then he meets that HOMELESS WOMAN that we goddamn forgot about (I thought she died, honestly) and she says "It's time" real ominous like. Then Jax is able to just shoot the shit out of Marks, fresh back on the set from that better show. Then Jax just...saunters away? I understand how much Jarry and the police pedigree that preceded her sucks ass but come the fuck on. Then what about Mark's people getting revenge? That sounds like more violence in charming to me.

- So Jax goes back to his people and they're supposed to shoot him or whatever the fuck. Honestly, it would make a better ending. it would be completely natural. It shows the club cutting off their tainted history with the Teller family and finally going in a different direction. It would also put some emotional baggage onto the club. They'd all be complicit in the death of their club president. could you imagine how hard it would be for Chibs to shoulder that AND run the club? I would actually watch a season of that (not written by Sutter). But instead they shoot Happy in the goddamn arm and we're treated to like six minutes of fucking bro hugs.

- Lemme break this off real quick. Happy? The dude that plays him? I'm just now finding out that he was originally a technical advisor guy and Sutter just decided to give him a role. Which isn't something new. People always get roles and cast like that. But are they fucking billed characters over 3-4 seasons? Holy shit. And you know what? His technical advisorship is probably top notch. But you can totally tell he's a technical advisor when you see his reaction to getting shot in the arm and the hug he gives Jax. It's hilarious. Go back and watch all of the Happy parts in this series. It's a master class of unskilled acting.

- I really don't know what to say about this ending:

1) It's a cowardly move. Kurt Sutter, with his badassness, is really cowardly at challenging his audience. He's also really bad at making his protagonists seem likable after awhile. I'm pretty sure there's a better way for Jax to kill himself or have himself killed (see the club killing him suggestion above). I'd actually love it if he took on Marks and his crew and died after takign them all out. That would be amazing. But what am I supposed to think of Jax by traumatizing poor Vic Mackey the truck driver? Why were the police so adamant on chasing Jax AFTER he goes on his murder spree? Why was he talking to that tag? Why do people talk to spirits? Why did we need that stupid montage of everybody being sad?

2) The symbolism was corny as shit. Why are crows out there eating bread? And the wine bullshit. And that CGI puddle? I'm pretty sure Sutter was like "That nailed it". Or maybe he didn't. Why would they care? FX knows that this was gonna pull ratings (6 mil people watched that finale, man). Sutter submitted this piece of shit and FX was like "Cool. thanks man"

- Recognizing Julie Cash's big ol booty was probably the best part of this episode.

- Final Thoughts: I've said enough about this series. What a horrifying trajectory for a show that I LOVED when it came out. And even more insulting, it was supposed to be Shakespeare with bikes. Which sounds great at first. But even if you have a second hand knowledge of Shakespeare through the other stuff that adapted his work way better, you'd know that this isn't Shakespeare at all. Maybe Sutter never read Shakespeare? I'm not sure. Whatever. I feel like I've dedicated too many words to such a trash series. And it's really hard for me to actually enjoy talking shit about it considering it's great 1st and 2nd season. Even the third and fourth seasons I could live with. But don't fucking insult me by tucking in a Shakespeare quote to remind me it was about Hamlet. It ended in the most unHamlet way possible.

Whatever. Fuck this show.

i'm out.
