Could Kara not stop Lex from shooting her? I simply don't understand.

Hi, I'm Kara, I have multiple super powers, several of which could have been used to stop Lex from shooting me (or Clark for that matter, but I suppose Lex has super-fast bullets or something) while he was giving his monologue, and yet somehow I was still shot. Isn't life grand?
