the sound was terrible in there.

I was there with my wife when they were at JHU a few yrs ago...she sat in the hall of the gymnasium because of the acoustics being horrible......at least I talked to Quest for a few after they tore down the roof!!!

Just got a flier at Paid Dues last night. Roots headlining Audiotistic Festival in San Bernadino at NOS Sat, May 9 along with Reflection Eternal! Hope they play some other shows in the area since they will be in town.

no dates or veues yet, but one would assume theyre near each other since its a similar lineup

i just found out they're at the hollywood bowl in late august i think also.

I think someone on another thread stated the Hollywood Bowl show was not THESE Roots.

Never been to Audiotistic but I went to Paid Dues a couple weeks ago at the same venue and it was a pretty decent venue IMO. Just hoping the Roots have at least 1 1/2 hours the sets at Paid Dues were only :30-:45.

I'm not really sure if they've improved, but these types of events (I dunno if they're even called raves anymore) can be REALLY hit or miss. I went to Audiotistic in like 02 and probably another one too (I remember The Roots played at a number of them...00, 02, etc) and for one thing, the Orange Show sucks. It's hot, it's dirty, and it's not mapped out very well. I saw the Audio there with Outkast, The Roots, Mos Def, Kweli, and a bunch of others...and, while I stuck by the hip hop stage, you will run into little kids on drugs.

I must be old, cause I used to LOVE going to these things, and now you can't pay me to.

We'll see if I go...the only thing tipping the scales really is the fact The Roots don't tour out here much anymore with the Fallon thing.

I will be at the Portland show tonight. Exciting since I haven't seen them live since 1999. Macy Gray opened for them, lol. A loooooong time ago.

There should be no Jam Session on the June 30th. The Roots are scheduled to perform at The House of Blues in Cleveland .

Thank Allah for The Roots picnic in Illadel! If it wasn't for the Philly Roots picnic looks like we whould'nt be getting any Roots shows in Philly! I hope we get another one soon! Sucks that Philly don't even get "Rock the bells" this year!

I can't make it, but if you are traveling to it I found that 1800hotels.com has some silly low rates at the Hard Rock Hotel. If you book with hard Rock directly it's like $229, if you book through 1800hotels it fluctuates between $24 dollars to $110 dollars.

Yes, I'm staying there on August 28th (Steely Dan show at the Palms) for $24 dollars.

Just a FYI - I don’t work for hard Rock or 1800hotels.
