i can tell you are heavy into basslines...and that's cool. I personally like to focus on particular sounds and different ways to change patterns with the drums when making music instead. Ha, I been this way for years...love altering drums.

As for studying sounds, thanks for the Dilla mention, but it's the likes of jazz artist or those who create thier own sound mostly or soley from jazz (still) that I'd like to give credit for most of my inspiration.

With a nod to Dilla (R.I.P), Pete Rock, and other inspiration, I'd like to leave the soulful basslines to their style of music. On occassion though, I might mess around with a bassline or make the the drums heavier to make up for the lack of using a bassline.
