A remix album for Jay-Z's "American Gangster", with all songs sampled from Christmas or holiday themed records.

Back Story:


This project started a year ago when Mic Tao, a hip hop producer/beatmaker/soundscaper, was working at a retail store during the holiday season where of course holiday music was being played what seemed like 24/7 through the store's sound system. Through the agony of constantly listening to this music, Mic Tao realized a lot of this music was very sample-able, enough to make some pretty sweet tunes. This was also around the time Jay-Z's "American Gangster", and its acapellas came out. Mic Tao put two and two together and decided to make a remix album unique from the loads of remix albums that were coming out. However because of an extensive holiday retail schedule, Mic Tao only got through about 4 joints before the big 12/25 day hit. So better late than never! "American Gangster Christmas" was finished in time for this holiday season. Enjoy!

DJ Boozwa & Promise Psuedo's 'Self-Reflection: The Pursuit of Nappiness' is a collaborative effort between dj/producer DJ Boozwa and emcee Promise Pseudo. Promise cleverly paints songs that range
from introspective to tongue-in-cheek to serious social commentary, all over a melodic canvas of beats that range from down beat to break-beat to world beat, reggae and dub. All produced by DJ Boozwa.

Promise Udo graduated from The University of Texas - El Paso in Summer 2007 (coincidentally, the last day of class was the day before his birthday). To commemorate the occasion and release all the pent-up stress created by one's last semester of college, Promise released The Graduate EP two weeks after his final exam. In mixtape fashion, The Graduate includes B-Sides(Profylactives and For the Occasion) and lost original recordings(Chew'd Up Spat) with new songs featuring Phunetik, Tone of the Cosmos and Voo da Teach.

Time Capsule consists of DJ Bless 1ne and Semantics the SuperEGO (aka Promise Pseudo). Recorded in tandem with 2005's The Product, Time Capsule's The Wayback Machine explores timeless hip-hop with equal parts old-school sensibility and new-school innovativeness. Semantics and Bless share the production responsibilities evenly (collaborating on the the last odd song on the album). Bless 1ne's turntablism skills, which have earned him the nickname 'The Terror Wrist', are only matched by his skills on the mic and compliment Semantics' high energy delivery.

Promise Psuedo 'The Product'is the first full-length solo effort from
Semantics the SuperEGO (aka Promise Pseudo). Written/Recorded in 2004-2005, The Product features production from Citizen Caine, Tettris, and SuperEGO with guest appearances from Tettris, Phunetik,
and DJ Bless 1ne.

I got on FL Studio a week ago today, and this is a little tape I've thrown together of my "first batch", mixed with some movie samples that give the tape a little more of a cinematic feel and less like just a collection of scraps. My cousin (Boom88), a friend of ours (Ryan Lucas), and I formed a super crew called Subwoofer Science this past year. All 3 of us write and make beats. I really like your flow, it sorta reminds me of less insane clearer speaking MF DOOM lol. Good shit man really good shit. The only thing I noticed is that at times your bars got a bit crowded with words and the meaning got lost. But I liked the characters alot. Keep that shit up!!!!

The Story:

Undefined is an upcoming hiphop/reggae band from Belgium, Europe. The band started in 2004 with 2 mc's, guitar, bass, drums, keys and scratch. In january 2009 we lost one of our mc's named Cedric aka Rhygin due to a traffic accident.. just when the band had it's break-through in Belgium after winning an MTV band contest.. all bandmembers are like family so this was a real hard blow for us.
This is our song for him and it carries a message for everybody anywhere: Enjoy every second of life to the fullest and Live It Up!

A brief look on the Creation of "E.P.I.C."

After beating out over 60 other bands and artists to become a finalist in a chance to play Arizona Stadium and Open for Jay-Z, it has been a whirlwind of events for the 25-Year Old Aspiring Hip Hop Artist: He got married this May and has a his first child due this October. With all of these live changing events, it was Jaron Ikner, executive producer of "E.P.I.C." that decided it was time to make that great push. "We are treating this album as the catalyst for everything else we do from now. This album, as well as mine will pretty much make or break the H2 family. After these drops, it's either going to happen or not." With the deafening buzz from the contest, Jaron decided to give Tucson Don the release date that was originally scheduled for Black 1's highly anticpated debut "Black Sun Rising": A late summer release, just in time for a new school year, with every intention of putting even more weight of local hip hop scene squarely on the shoulders of the Hometown Family. However, there are bigger dreams on the horizon, as Jaron makes the claim that "this will be the album that will shine much need light on the City of Tucson and Arizona Hip Hop. It's dark in these streets."
Since April, The duo have been working endlessy to hold up to the claim that many who have heard early versions of the project say its one of the most inspiring and heartfelt pieces of works they heard in awhile. In order to acheive this, the team scoured the land to find the best soundscape to orchestrate the most ambitious project from the H2 Camp, reaching out to producers from seattle all the way to alanta, including O.C. Notes and Tone Def but despite the vast array of of production from across the nation they knew had to keep the sound genuine and homebody as well. This inspired Jaron to pull out some of the best production his has ever created, as well as enlisting a new producer into the H2 folds, Patrick Kilpatrick, whose debut on the H2/Starstruck Imprint provides the soundscape for the cornerstone track "Life is a Beach".
as the album near completion, Tucson Don is prepare for one of the biggest moments of his already E.P.I.C. life...the birth of his daugther and the start of a new family. This has been the main driving force behing the juggernaut process of getting the album complete. Tucson Don constantly tells Jaron "We got to do this, We HAVE to do this" providing even more fuel for the already passionate effort being made by not only these two men but the entire H2 family. Jaron reflects:"The entire team has really pulled together to make this project happen, there is a lot of feedback good and bad and we take it all to heart.that's what makes this project so special because we are all getting behind one man who we believe in."

Barley N Hopz Entertainment are 2 producers from Toronto. Rot Iron and Othello Jay have put together a promo album to try to get some of their beats out to the world. "The First Sip Is Free" features a lineup of Canadian Hip Hop artists including Shad, Abdominal, Robizzy, The Killaz, Es & Ms. Divine.
