I mean, whats the most legitimate process of purchasing beats from producers? I dont just want to do a handshake and money exchange, so what is te best way of going about it? Help a dummy out, ya'll..............

which, at my current stage in the game, will generally just outline payment in full, transfer of rights/licensing, stipulation of proper referencing whenever used, etc.

And we'll will do some talking. I Can have a simple document drawn up once we knouck out the finer details of the arangment. Normaly I charge anywhere between $200-$2000 (depending on a few things but for you I doubt I'd even go above $600 depending on how hott it is and how attached I am to it) but then with that We can discuss things like points(it varies). But price, quality, and service are important.

Best piece of advice I can give you, find a good manager and/or lawyer who knows about issues like publishing and licensing who can negotiate an advantageous deal for you. If you're serious enough to pay somebody for their creative work, you should be committed enough to yourself to make sure you get your money's worth. Best of luck.
