Seriously, try to have a little debate and suddenly everyone gets all uptight. I guess adding in The Savages remark before wasn't enough to show that it was all in good fun. I mean, how do you read that Judas comment and think it's serious? I guess one of the first commandments for OE Apostles is: Assume Anger.
In the end, it's not that you defend OE, it's that you defended his off-point argument as if it is valid.
The long and short of this discussion is:
- Me: I liked Pulp Fiction.
- OE: People overrate it and critics overanalyze it.
- Me: True. But I still liked it.
- OE: No, people like it because they think its deep.
- ME: I don't think most people do. I didn't. Regardless, I thought it was a fun cool crime flick. I really liked it.
- OE: No you didn't. You think you liked it. I says it sucks so it sucks.
- Damaja: If you look at the context of the reviews that inspired his post-modern...
- Me: *SMH* Not helping.
- OE: See, EVERYONE talks like that. One other person used the word Zeitgest therefore the movie sucks. I'm right. You're mad.
- Me: No, really. I liked it.
- OE: Drink a latte and stop being mad!
- Longo: Come on, you know he's right. You have to admit that people do overrate it. I don't know why you bother arguing with him.
- Me: Don't encourage him. That's not the point.
- OE: Mad!
- Longo: That hurt my feelings. I just want to be loved.
