no. that's not what i said.

you said that you had NEVER heard ANYONE praise the music, when that was one of the main things that was praised.

in fact, for a long time it became a cliche to associate Pulp with jheri-curl wigs, black suits and cool tunes by Dusty Springfield and Urge Overkill

in addition, that soundtrack made a whole generation of white people discover Al Green and Kool & the Gang's "funky" period.

whether or not you or i actually believe the soundtrack is "brilliant" or "eclectic" is really irrelevant... if you search "Pulp Fiction" on Google now, you can barely throw a rock without hitting some kind of praise for the soundtrack.
it's nothing as complicated as you want to make it.

so yeah... how did you miss that?

>And even if the music was "brilliant and
>eclectic", good thing I can just listen to the soundtrack
>and not watch the movie, because the soundtrack does
>not make the movie. Lots of mediocre movies have dope
>soundtracks.

irrelevant.

i never argued that the movie was good or bad.

you said that Damaja was "inventing" the praise for the soundtrack.

i pointed out that the soundtrack was, in fact, widely praised.

your feelings about the movie itself have nothing to do with anything... you were just wrong.

>And even better -- not a single person in this
>thread, or any thread I've read here about 'Pulp
>Fiction' has *specifically* traced their
>enjoyment of the film to it having a great
>soundtrack.

i'm glad you've graciously revealed your cognitive process for us.

so basically... it's safe to assume that most--if not all--of your knowledge/opinions of Pulp Fiction are based pretty much on what OTHER people say about it, specifically people in PTP.

nice to know.

>>the soundtrack was a staple in every college student/hipster

me neither... but considering the fact that i associate with other humans, i sometimes am privy to their particular tastes and propensities.
