I'm just trying to say that after watching and researching these films, I fail to see how there's much "deeper" in these. I don't think QT doesn't know what he's doing (except when it comes to dealing with matters of race, a different topic), but I don't think he's going for 7/8ths of the deeper meaning I've read about. It's a backlash to overexposure and overanalysis.

And I know he's watched more. I think he's said his favorite movie is Red River. But his flicks have been explorations of these B-movie genres, first and foremost.
