The reason why the above qualify is that these interactions communicate a disconnect between the intentions of the speaker(you, and the other guy/gal) and what really came across, and how your messages fit into the greater context of what was being discussed.
In this case, I'm making fun of how pretentious and assholish fans of 'Pulp Fiction' are.
In this SAME DISCUSSION, you come in here trying to correct word usage, which is both pretentious and assholish.
You were unaware of how perfectly you were playing into my greater point, hence the irony of your comments.
Not to mention that fact that you're wrong(kind of a moot point here).
