JJ did a much better job than I expected with this. The flick really moved at a steady clip with enough melodrama and comedy to balance it out. It's far from perfect, but it's extremely good for a reboot.

Stuff I liked:
McCoy was nailed perfectly, even if the DeForest Kelley impression was a bit much at times
Ensign Redshirt goes out in a blaze. Too funny
The Enterprise looked badass. The shots going into and out of warp and the shot coming behind Titan? Stunning
Skyler got his man
Simon Pegg was a better Scotty than I expected (and I was about to be pissed at that)
I couldn't even be mad at Madea Goes to Space

Stuff I didn't like:
Sarek was horrible
The Romuluns looked like body building Vulcans with tattoos. Not very imaginative.
No need to destroy Vulcan or kill Spock's mom
Uhura and Spock??!!!?? Ewwwwwwwww. That didn't sit well with me at all.
How did they just plot Scotty in a uniform and sit him in engineering no questions asked?

I'm sitting on the main plot point until more people have seen it since, while it works, it really didn't need to go that direction at all and tosses out a slew of the foundation of the series. No need for a retcon like that.
