>they could've matched Mara's talents

actually, i don't think they could have. Natalie, save for Black Swan, The Professional and The Closer, seems to be content coasting on past glory. and has YET to show me she really CAN convincing get into a character (whenever i see her on film, it's almost like you can TELL she's not into it with the characters she plays and doesn't seem real comfortable with 100% committing, etc.)

ScarJo: same way...and she comes off trying to hard in everything she does and failing horribly at it.

FAIL. I mean, could we have DEALT with Lisbeth Salander blinking like a million times indicating she wanted to cry and shit?! LOL!
and this SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, i'm only going to see it because CHARLIZE THERON is in it, that's it.

me either...Page: i think she could get CLOSE, but her performances just never ring "truthfully" or "committed" to me...

KK: she's a great actress...even if she brought her A game, it would have still come up short.

yea and it wasn't just them: Embeth Davidtz (who RARELY works) as Blomkvist's lawyer sister Annika, Robin Wright (formerly Sean Penn's ex), as Erika Berger, Mikael's sidepiece (i swear, is it just me, or does she get BETTER looking the older she gets...and she's in her late 40s)....

great movie. i think i'm going to see it again this week or next.
