>what about this movie looks corny? i would like to know.
'Batman Begins' was splendid.
Splendid.
Splendid.
The reasons why we loved it so much, were, however, very contextual:
a) It was a real origin story. Never been done in a super hero movie, at least recently. It was done and done well.
b)It came AFTER BATMAN AND ROBIN and so our expectations had dropped to an all-time low. We didn't expect shit. The fact that it was well made and "dark" made it particularly intriguing.
The sad truth is that the actual Batman-villain interactions in 'Batman Begins' were actually kind of corny, and the first half of the movie was substantially better than the second half of the movie. Cry if you want to, but that is true. Nobody cared about the nigga wearing the mask, or any of that dumbass shit. No one cared about Katie Holmes fighting drug kingpins. We all but dozed off in those scenes because her character sucked and her conflict was cliche and unnecessary to even make that film good.
So what did we like?
We liked to see Bruce in Tibet, whooping ass, doing the god body knowledge, learning the ropes. That is what made that movie great.
Liam Neeson made that movie. Not his evil-ness. But his philosophy. The organic-nature of his interactions with Bruce early on.
We like Alfred.
We liked Detective Gordon.
We liked seeing how Gotham took to Batman.
Now that the whole origin novelty has worn off, we just have another superhero movie that is "Dark."
Ummm...okay.
It'll be aight.
But not that good.
It'll be about as good as the 2nd half of 'Begins' which is a solid 'B' movie at best.
There will prolly be some cornball shit up in there though.
