Not only Roger Sterling attempting to quell Joan's feeling of angst after seeing the Wilder classic, but the way Joan herself becomes an elevator girl at the end w/ Cooper.
I mean, the whole entire show owes a debt to C. C. Baxter and 'em, but these more obvious moments were great too.
And was there a Lost Weekend / Long Weekend connection too?
In the original novel, apparently, the lead character'ss downward spiral comes after rumors of some homosexual happenings with an old college friend. (Foreshadowing . . . ?)
