If he'd stayed 100% accurate, it's corny and overly purist and lame.
If he changes it, Transformers loyalists-- his core audience-- get pissy.
Bay can't win. But he's not trying to sell JUST Transformers fans. He wants to sell everyone. And I, being unfamiliar with the original Transformers, think that those things look pretty fucking cool.
