That's probably because the show The West Wing was about... the people in front of and behind the scenes of politics. Just like Studio 60 is a show about... the people in front of and behind the scenes of a show.

You know. Matt and Danny are writers. That's their jobs. They do it every day. And the whole show is based on it. In addition to their interactions with the cast, the crew, the executives, and each other. The show's not about the material that they produce.

Do you understand the difference, or are you going to now cite Hill Street Blues and Miami Vice as examples of "cops who did their jobs everyday. Cause, you know, they're cops. They shoot people. That's what they do."
