I think they "killed" him off and made Dibny go crazy to spend more time of the two remaining "central" storylines (Question and Montoya in Kandaaq/Steel in Metropolis) and maybe give a little more face-time to the Lost in Space trio; remember them?
I figure Booster comes back by week 39 or 40 or something.
