the "connections" and "coincidences" in crash were forced and contrived as hell. for example: the same cop who felt thandie newton up is now first on the scene of her car accident? that kind of "facts of life" writing is why paul haggis was writing for the facts of life twenty years ago and was also the creative brains behind walker, texas ranger.

in contrast, the way the stories in pulp fiction wove in and out of each other was near flawlessly executed.
