So I'm laughing with a friend of mine about cartoons from our childhood and I ask her if she thought of Panthro from the Thundercats as being black like I did. She's like, 'of course!' and brings up the fact that he's bald, plus the whole 'Panther' connection, which I totally never thought of.

So I wanna know- who are some other non-human cartoon characters who, for some reason, you consider to be 'black' and what makes you think so?

The only other I can think of at the moment is Rolf from the Muppet Babies. It was his voice, plus the brown fur (most animals with dark colors- bears, crows- make me think this). In some cases, I think it's intentional on the creator's part, but I could be totally off.

...and who can forget (although I try) Heckel and Jekyll?
... and I'm pretty sure Frylock is a brutha.

They all had fairly big parts in the muppet movies.

Dr. Teeth was the lead singer/keyboard player, Zoot played sax, Floyd played guitar, Janice played bass, and Animal was on the drums. Animal was the most famous of all of them, 'cause of his featured role on Muppet Babies.

I still maintain that besides Janice (a hippy white chick)(, they're all Black. I've never heard Dr. Teeth was based on Dr. John, but I guess its possible.

Janice and Floyd are white IMO. I don't know who that Clifford dude is but he seems black. And I'm with you on Rowlf. Zoot is probably bi-racial while Dr. Teeth is South American.

He's one of the "new" Muppets tthey introduced when the relaunced the "Muppet Show" in the mid-1990s. He introduced himself as "your homey made of foamy." Think of him as they Muppet version of Jar-Jar, only slightly less offensive.

My first year of college I took a class called "Muppet Magic" and the white band chick character is totally based off my professor from that class. Like foreal she knew Jim Henson and everything. Katherine Foley.

Strangely enough, The Doc saw a picture of the guy, he looks like Destro with hair...probably why he was casted.

(Burghardt was also the voice of Devestator on Transformers...they should have used his voice more on that show ITDO)
