Yes.

Lucas is our Walt Disney. A talented filmmaker who made some very major works at an early age and then became more focused on expanding the medium and building an empire than his artistic development. His impact on technology and the business of cinema is huge (both good and bad). And regardless of it's artistic merit, you count on one hand the number of films as influential as Star Wars.

Spielberg is our Cecil B. DeMille. An extremely talented craftsman a great showman, and the most widely known filmmaker of his day. But nothing much beyond that. Spielberg is possibly the most talented pure director of screen action of all time. He will forever be cherished by film lovers. But his impact on the medium will pale in comparison to Lucas's.
