remember later on palpatine admits that only one sith has ever been able to actually use the power to create/save life. that sith was his master, that is, i'm assuming that it was his master that he was telling the story about and that he killed in his sleep.

remember he said to anakin "there's only been one sith that could use this power, but perhaps together we can figure it out and you can save padme."

my point is, i don't think he created anakin. i don't see any evidence to support this theory.
