Glenn Close is turning in her badge on FX's The Shield. As first reported in today's fresh Ask Ausiello, the five-time Oscar nominee has informed producers that she will not be returning for the show's fifth season next year. To be fair, Close only signed on for one season, but given the impact she's had on the show — since her arrival in March, The Shield's ratings have soared 25 percent — there's little room for fairness.
