And sadly, a lot of it is from black people too.

But people tend to have a gut revulsion to every single thing Spike Lee does that could possibly be interpreted as less-than-ideal.

This is how films like 'Get on the Bus' get horrifyingly bad reviews, yet was a superb film. Same with 'Summer of Sam'. Same with 'Clockers'. Same with '25th Hour'.

People don't like Spike, and so find reasons to hate the films independent of the films. So when they come out, people fly off the cuff and hate on it like its an outbreak of SARS. Months later, a different opinion surfaces.

That is what happened here.

Now that its on DVD, people can watch 'She Hate Me' without that knee-jerkness.

And when you get rid of that, its actually a good film.

Like most of his films.
