I don't care what anyone says, the book was funny! The fact that it was written in both past tense and present tense was not an issue for me. I guess I always had it in my head that it was a diary and like Angie said, sometimes you write things as they happen, sometimes you write them before (intentions) or after.
I actually choked from laughtin' too hard a couple of times because I could imagine that crazy s**t happening as I was reading it. I did cry (from laughter) while reading the check cashing entry, but I just thought that is was because I was delirious from sleep deprivation. But then it happened again with the "Misinformed Militant" and "FRED" (and few other parts that I can't remember right now).
Anyway, thank you Angie for speaking out for broke ass college kids and just broke ass people in general in that crazy ass book. I will never again be ashamed of being broke.
PS-I agree with mcScoobySnack; It was truely refreshing to not see any mention of the okayplayer website or any name dropping. And I've had to do the water thing before going to bed myself a few times. It was a relief to find out that I wasn't the only one.
